HMMM! this is a good one...
Clean cottom underware is always good to polish things and not scratch the surfaces. In addition, the proper fitting tool can grasp nuts and avoid slippage and maring the surface while tweaking. You can use almost any type of cleaner during maintenance procedures but be careful that what you use doesn't irratate the finish, burning and causing problems.
Now, just good old fashion elbow grease work everytime, you will be happy with the outcome if you take the time to do it right.
