Post Taxes On Cash For Clunkers

According to this some states are going to tax people on whatever they got for their trade in. Another big farce as there seems to be no standard between the states and if they have to pay taxes on whatever they got, than it won't help much.

And you thought states were all the same when it comes to taxes?

How many states have you lived in, payed taxes, and took the time to fill out the tax forms yourself?

I've lived (worked ) in 4 states, and I can tell you there are large differences in all the tax laws, income (state and local), sales (state + local), property, other "use" taxes.

The beauty of our system is that it's simple, designed by knowledgeable people, wanting to help us with everyday life. Kind of like the changes Obama wants.

Anthony,

I have lived in and paid huge amounts of taxes in at least 35 of the states. And I filled out my tax forms, sometimes almost a small book. Your comments are asinine. Wow, you have lived in 4 states. A real traveler. I spent my whole life with Bell Labs traveling from one end of the country to the other and I do know that there are different taxes and structures in each state. But since this is a Federal Sponsored Program there should be some guide lines. Now if you have nothing intelligent to say, kindly stay out of any threads that I start. You even had to jump in the one on the planets with your moronic crap.
