Easy to loose or have stolen your ID in a foreign country. Car accident, for example, may make ID impossible to obtain when on the spot care is required. A person may be in no condition to explain anything. If we deny care here you can bet it will impact Americans over seas. Thats why we have International Agreements on such things, but, you know that all ready.

I recall a hospital in Florida shipping out an illegal well AFTER he ran up HUGE medical bills with no end in site. Brain damaged as I recall, required constant care. They got some kind of quasi legal status to put him on a plane, at night, when no one was looking. BIG uproar over that, I had to hand to it the Florida hospital, job well done, those sneaky rascals just "TCB"! Not to say I don't sympathize with the patient, but...

Anchor babies, now THAT is an interesting scenario and one that might gain some traction!

There seem's to be some question about who OWNS a large part of Hawaii all ready. There is a fairly vocal and active group that claims to be a Nation within a Nation, the Hawaiian Nation. On some counts, they actually make sense. It's a serious issue the State and the Congress are dealing with. So, I think China is out, for now.

*Content related to depression era Social Security...which is NOWHERE near the system we have today. In fact, FDR promised vociferously that it would never become what we currently have, an entitlement program.
*BHO AGAIN quotes the 900 billion number, even though it has been proven unrealistic-not by republicans, not the 'haters', but by the CONGRESSIONAL BUDGET OFFICE.
* In general, I was very disappointed in the speech. The administration had been promising 'nuts and bolts' and delivered neither. I think the only explanantion to be found is that they KNOW that the numbers they keep throwing around do not make sense. From what I have seen of the overnight tracking polls, most of America seems to agree. Very little shift in opinion either way. It is too bad that neither party will tackle the 800 lb. gorilla...tort reform and malpractice. Our 'leaders' are being measured against the times; and they are found to be lacking. I just hope 2010 and 2012 turn into a tidal wave of ending incumbent reigns.

Good, here is another point. Travel insurance including Air Ambulance service back to the USA is Cheap. Add up your travel estimates, transportation, hotels etc. and give that number to the Travel Insurance Co. Cost should be 7% to 9% of the cost of your trip. Anyone traveling outside the US is a damn fool not to have travel ins. Also covers lost luggage and documents. Plus US Embassy will assign a worker to help injured US Citizens with documentation.

Now, we need more republicans with balls and less care about decorum to speak up loudly about the rest of the issues.

Mike, two things are VERY CLEAR from a close examination of the issue.

1. Obama was not lieing, period. The Federal Government has been consistent on this issue for a very long time. Illegal aliens should NOT be allowed to suck at the public trough. It is very tough to write every law without someone finding a loop hole somewhere. NASCAR comes to mind in that regard, a never ending cat and mouse game between car owners and inspectors.

2. Radical right wingers CONTINUE to twist the truth and use various MISS LEADING conclusions to support their view point at all costs! In this case reaching the wrongful conclusion that Obama lied AND justifying Wilsons outrage.

What is most disturbing about this is how some of you actually applaud this horrendous action. Calling him a hero, no less. WAKE UP, he is has taken a beating on this for saying what he said. You want to call him a hero for his actions? That is profoundly disgusting! This is NOT something to be proud off. This is NOT the way or the method of reform! THIS is a perfect example of the radicalization of the Republican party. The actions of members of THIS forum reinforce just how ridiculous and clownish that party has become.

the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service study found that the House health care bill does not restrict illegal immigrants from receiving health care coverage.

House Republican Minority Leader John Boehner amplified the complaint that without proof of citizenship, illegal immigrants could be insured.

"There were two opportunities for House Democrats to make clear that illegal immigrants wouldn't be covered by putting in requirements to show citizenships," he said. "Both of those amendments were, in fact, rejected."

In the Senate, Democrats in the so called "Gang of Six," a group of bipartisan senators on the Senate Finance Committee which is the last panel yet to release its bill, began moving quickly to close the loophole that Wilson helped bring greater attention to.

The above statements would seem to indicate one of two things. He knows nothing about what he is saying or he is lying. I know that the final version of this messed up bill won't be anything like it is now, but from the above statements even the Democrats are rushing to change something that you said he wasn't lying about when he said No Illegals would be covered. I don't agree with the way it was brought up, but at least they now have to do something about it, otherwise they would have left it as it is.

I'm sure they are MORE loop holes in this bill and many other bill's like it. It is the nature of "law", all but impossible to cover every angle. The INTENT remains clear and has always remained clear, no insurance coverage for illegals, that applies to EXISTING law as well.

Joe Wilson is an idiot, HE recognizes that. HE apologized, his PARTY forced him to. What he did was incredibly stupid and illustrates the only methodology the Republicans seem to understand. Negative foul mouthed in your face shout 'em down politics. In flames I tell you, in flames!
