Rob, The tank needs to be strapped directly to the steel chassis and only pass through the fiberglass. This is usually accomplished behind the fuel tank finishing carpet cover. I cant tell from your pic if thats the case. The pic above is what ByronRace sent me on how his tank is strapped in on his West Coast. A "T-Bolt" style steel tank strap is used. It would be nice to see the other solutions posted under this thread. This is safety critical and important. His pic also includes his nice fuel supply system to feed his 900 hp blown monster.
