Cool Mile Hi Cobra Club Sunday Drives

Greetings Cobra Gear-heads,

This is the first of a series of notifications of the monthly MHCC Sunday Morning Mountain Drives, which are scheduled for the third Sunday of every month May through September. At this time, the tentative drives schedule is (bad weather date - the following Sunday):

· May 19th Golden to Estes Park via the Peak to Peak Highway,
lunch at The Estes Park Brewery

· June 16th Morrison to Woodland Park via the Pine Valley Road,
lunch TBA

· July 21st Morrison to Idaho Springs via the Mount Evans
Highway, lunch at Beau Jos

· Aug 18th Golden to Nederland via Boulder, Lyons and the
Peak to Peak Highway, lunch TBA

· Sep 15th Second Annual "Colors Drive" - Golden to Manitou
Lakes via the Mount Evans Highway and the Pine Valley
Road, picnic lunch at Manitou Lakes

There have been some inquires from other car clubs asking to join us and we would like to keep it a Cobra-only event if we get participation of at least 13 Cobras. Otherwise, we'll invite some other marques to join us. (Note - all non-MHCC member cars will be assessed a $5 per car charge for insurance.)

The May 19th drive will start at Foss Drug in Golden promptly at 9:00AM, so try to arrive no later than 8:45AM and have your car fueled up when you get to Golden. The drive to Estes Park via the Peak to Peak Highway is about 80 miles and we'll look for a gas / pit stop along the way. Please respond to zulu028@aol.com with a head count if you're planning to attend so that I can give the restaurant an idea of participants in order to get a private dining area.

Thanks for your interest and participation and I welcome any suggestions that you may have.

Karl
