Default 2nd Annual Cruise Colorado Event

2nd Annual Cruise Colorado Event

The Mile Hi Cobra Club is pleased to announce our second Cruise Colorado event. We are inviting all Cobra owners and enthusiasts to join us on the great long weekend in the Colorado Mountains that we have planned for the summer of 2005.

The group will be departing Denver on July 20. The first stop is Crested Butte, CO. From there, we head to Telluride, Co on the 21st. With all the great attractions in Telluride, we will be staying over on the 22nd. We have a number of recommended outings for the Free Day which several car cruises and even a Jeep Tour. On the 23rd we head to Aspen Snowmass, CO. Shopping in Aspen for the ladies is on the plan On the 24th we head back to Denver through Glenwood Canyon and past Vail or over Independence Pass.

For the entry fee of $50.00 for MHCC members and $55 for non-members you will get lot of goodies including maps, directions, etc. The entry fee will be used to cover club expenses and all remaining money will be donated to the Colorado State Patrol's Widows Organization. We are working with various manufacturer's to provide limited sponsorship in exchange for advertising on our web site.

Our intent this year is to have a fun weekend of driving and sightseeing like we did last year. Therefore, we are creating an informal event that will allow small groups to set their own pace and take side-trips without fear of holding up the group. The only official planned event is a dinner on Wednesday evening in Crested Butte or Gunnison.

Here is a list of recommended hotels. Each person will need to make their own reservations. Tell them you are with the Mile Hi Cobra Club for special rates and rooms.

Hotel Information is as follows:

7/20/05 - Crested Butte,Co The Grande
Call 888-823-4446

7/21 and 7/22/05 - Telluride, Co Various rooms are available.
Call 970-728-3260

7/23/05 - Aspen Snowmass, Co Mountain Chalet
Call 800-843-1579

Dan Melson has volunteered to supply a truck and trailer for a support vehicle. $20 of your entry fee will go to Dan for his expenses. For those that may trailer in to Denver, we have a lot where you can park your trailer and tow vehicle. Contact Al Bockman at ad303@yahoo.com to reserve your parking spot and hotel rooms close by.

Cobra ownership is not required. If you are coming from the South or West, you may want to join in with us beginning in Gunnison or Telluride. As we will be going over some pretty high passes along the way and because you will be starting out at our mile high altitude, those running carbs are strongly urged to re-jet down 2 to 4 jet size numbers.

If there are any questions or problems, please either contact Dick Thompson at thompson660@cs.com.

Final details are being worked out and we will be posting the latest information on www.MileHiCobraClub.com

We will be going on this trip whether we have 5 or 50 cars. We'd like to have as many of you as possible join us!

The routes are finally planned. We even have an option for a little desert canyon driving. That might keep us out of the rain. Maybe.

And Cowtown, no hail this year on McClure Pass, okay?
