just for fun: 1:18 scale cobra427; s/c to street modification

Hi,

After I've modified 1:32 cobra427s/c to street.
I remember that I don't have enough street cobra model in my collection of around 200 items.
So, I modified 1:18 cobra427s/c to street

Very Nice!

You need more time on your hands! Geez I'm starting to think I've been slacking around here! Looks great!

That's pretty good. However, didn't street Cobra's have over-riders instead of quick jacks? And typically, with the rear bumper loop as well as the front oval loop?

Right you are. In addition, the fuel filler was much smaller than on the SC/Comp cars (it was actually a Lucas item that was also found on Norton Commando motorcycles), the rear fender lip was absent on the street 427s, and there was a horizontal divider in the radiator opening.

Still, a great piece of work.

thank you for replies
i know all details of street version
but, this is just a quick & dirty project
i was lucky because this donor 427s/c model has got street dashboard (glove box & instrumentations layout)
peace

Good work. I know you'll find another diecast with bumpers that you'll steal for this baby.

Ozgur_Tan 01-02-2011 11:59 PM

thank you,

i've got 1:18 exoto cobra260 and ERTL cobra427 in my collection (link)
but, i don't want to use them as donors for street fuel filler cap and bumpers
hmm, i can make silicon mould to copy this items

peace,
ozgur

How about soldering up some wire for the fenders?
Could you make a cast of the overriders from one of the other cars using FiMo or plasticene, fill with resin, and cover with baking foil - would that work?

Great car btw,
