By the time he made four of them he could have had the real thing.

They are spectacular.

The article will have a lot of detailed pics and and of course the history of the craftsman's association with the Daytona Coupe.

Here are a couple of pics.

Cheers

I wonder if this will have a working V8 in it, from Gary Conley.

I’m including a model of a Mustang hardtop here for a number of reasons –
- it’s Norm Beechey’s Mustang, and Norm was a hero of mine in my much younger days
- it was fitted with a 289 K-code engine with 4 Weber IDAs, sourced direct from Shelby in 1964 (there's the Cobra/Shelby connection )

In Norm’s hands, the Mustang won The Australian Touring Car Championship at Sandown (Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) in January 1965, arguably the first win in a major race for a Mustang anywhere in the world. Tell me if I'm wrong
It won that race with its standard front drum brakes still fitted, as the disc setup purchased from Shelby had not yet arrived in Australia.

Almost forgot....it's 1/18 scale, produced by Classic Carlectables

Cheers!

Hi patrickt. Another little tease that will come out in my article. This craftsman did make the real things.

And Gaz64, Gary Conley's engines are amazing, but unfortunately no 289.

Cheers
Greg

Greg, that 1/4 scale model is going to be amazing. Very impressive! If you are able to post some more pics when its completed that would be great.
