Cobra models (and any other similar/related models)
There's a recent Cobra "model" thread in the Australian Cobra Club sub-forum, so thought I might start another one for a (possibly) wider audience.
Here's a different picture of the Cobra model I posted there recently, a GMP 1/12 scale 289 roadster....

and here's its close relative (which I no longer have)....

Cheers!
Glen

Glen, did you sell, give, or ? The race version. I found the Creative Master's Cobra on E-bay. The one I'm looking for now is Allen Grant's 1/12 scale race car. I have both of his 1/43 scale one's in yellow, and in the day, the model co. only had B&W photos of Allen car, so the first 10 cars were painted White (known as Error cars), Allen has one & I have one Cheers TommyRot https://www.diecast.org/diecast98/ht.../reviewpix.htm |

Tom, I sold it. Made a....reasonable....profit. I have a premium on room to display models, so I kept the blue one.
This was a few years ago, and the GMP 1/12 scale cars were very reasonably priced on eBay, even taking into account shipping to Aus.

Cheers, and good luck for the search on the AG model.
 Glen

I knew these were "error" cars, but I have never heard that there were only 10 produced. Nonetheless, I am super-happy if that's true.

Well Russ, we know of 3 out of the 10, are in good hands Mine came in a (Red & Black) Bang box, Those two company's are one in the same (Box & Bang) Yours I'm sure came in the Sliver Box (Box) I used to sell Die-cast cars at swap-meet, races etc. Had over 150 Cobras in my own collection (From HO- 1/12 scale), then the divorce took care of those cars, so starting over again. Lets see if we can get the club members to show their Die Cast Cobra Collection's Cheers TommyRot. |

Very sorry you are having to start over - that really stinks. I used to work for a large online auction company that specialized in automotive collectibles and memorabilia. We would purchase or consign entire collections, and when one came in that had anything Cobra / Shelby / GT40 or rare Fords, I got first dibs. Needless to say I was able to get my hands on a lot of sweet pieces, and now have more diecast, plastic model kits, promotional models, slot cars, posters, etc, etc, than I could ever imagine. My wife just shakes her head when I buy something new, but I told her I was sick before she married me, so she knew what she was getting into... |

Russ, got your PM, I'll have to do some checking on the 10? I heard it from Mr. Bob Hayes @ Far West toys in Seattle Wa. he was my Wholesaler, back in 1993-2000 (Sold both Box & Bang). The yellow one I have I got from Allen himself. Hummm.... |

marklotus, really nice cars you've got there, the big one and the small one. The panel fit on the GMP is almost as good as the other one
Cheers,

It's an Exoto 1/18 scale....

Nice model Mike. I have several Kyosho models (not Cobras); good models and well priced.
 Cheers

Nice one, this one. A 1/18 scale Ford GT40 MkII by Exoto....
Models are great, aren't they?
Don't cost much in the scheme of things, usually already fully assembled, don't cost anything to run, easy to 'garage', use no fuel
Cheers!

Here's a little tease. I'm working on an interview to submit to the SAAC magazine about a craftsman with quite a history. Hopefully I will have it done by the fall.
The craftsman is making 1/4 scale Cobra Daytona coupes with an FRP body, full tubular chassis with working suspension, and 3D modelled engine/trans and wheels/tires.

 They are spectacular.

The article will have a lot of detailed pics and and of course the history of the craftsman's association with the Daytona Coupe.

Here are a couple of pics.

 Cheers
 Greg
