Default Registering a Cobra in Massachusetts

Hi,

Are there any issues with registering an ERA 427 Cobra in Massachusetts? Any issues with replicas?

Thank you...all help is appreciated.

Nick

Depends on how your car is already registered?

It is currently titled as a 1966..."1966 ERA 427" VIN: 677

I live in Illinois, and I have no knowledge of Mass. procedures.

Thanks for any help.

Should be a straight transfer. Except that VIN number is a flag.

Thanks...I know it's a weird VIN...just the Serial Number of the car. The State titled the car that way, and State Farm gave me no problems when I insured it.

Any new Ma. registrations out there using a 427 fe.I know this is an older thread, but it's the correct subject matter. This is a new build with mso so I'm starting from scratch.

Contact the MASS DMV office and ask for the "Kit Car Package", follow the rules to the letter and you'll be just fine. Quite a bit has changed in MASS since 2013 when this thread petered out, so perhaps starting a new build thread would be a better idea. Also, Bob at ERA can probably guide you on the title/registration process in MASS, as he is quite knowledgeable on the subject.

You will be hunting for an old car that qualifies with a large enough engine to crush as a carbon trade for that 427. The process is outlined in detail online if you search a bit.

It's a MASSive procedure but can be done if you follow the steps.
