Default Connecticut "COBRA" Plate Available

Hey Kids:
For many years now my wife has been driving around with the Connecticut license plate "COBRA". It looks a little strange on a Focus. I think it would look better on an AC. If anyone out there is interested in having this plate please respond to this post. If there is more than one interested party I will go in the order of the responses. All I am asking of the person interested is that they cover the cost of swapping the plates (around $100) and that they have a generic plate (no vanity plates please) to swap.

If you are interested we would both appear at the Hamden DMV office on a weekday morning and do the swap.

Bob

That's very generous of you.
Vanity plates have become big deal$$$

A guy in the United Kingdom turned down $10mil U.S. dollars for his "F1" number plates.

If it doesn't work out with Cashburn, I am interested.
Thanks,

Bob back in the 70's I knew the guy who had that plate. He was a bud of my neighbor and quite the Ford guy too. He helped me with my old GT500 when I first bought it. Fred E and think he was from Cos Cob or somewhere in the Greenwich area. He offered me the plate for $100 back then. LOL hindsight.

He was from Greenwich and when I got the plate I got stuck having to pay all his unpaid taxes on whatever car he owned. The idiots in Greenwich and the State of Connecticut DMV would not register my 1996 Mystic Mustang Cobra until I paid "my" unpaid taxes. I have never lived in Greenwich nor did I owe them taxes, but in the end I had to cover the bill or CT DMV would not register my car. Government at its best!

Bob sorry to hear about the taxes! The plate was on a 74 Mustang II Cobra at the time. I can't remember exactly what it was on before that. But said he had the plate for some time. That's crazy you had to pay his back taxes. I can't believe DMV made you pay them. Anyway very nice thing your doing with the plate now. I'm sure the new owner will very much enjoy having it too! All the best, Glenn.

Welcome back, Stormbringer AKA Onyxrider AKA Prodigal Son

I've always been ahead of trends, whether flipping sneakers or Jeremy Lin NBA rookie cards.

4 years ago, I sold my "212" phone number for $1000. I tried to buy it back this year and the person wants $20,000

Well it's the end of August and I still have the plate. I've been left standing at the alter (DMV) twice now. So if anyone wants my "COBRA" plate here are the new rules. I am now requiring a fee of $20 for the plate. Once I receive the payment I will meet you at the Hamden or Bridgeport DMV office and we will swap plates. The total cost of the DMV services is on you.

Bob

Well kids, it's finally gone. It took 3 trips to the DMV. I was left standing at the DMV altar twice. I thought there would have been more demand for the plate. So now Steve has it, enjoy. My wife is happy to have generic plates on her Focus.
