Default Engine Builders in New England?

I'm new to this Forum, and wandering if I should concentrate my efforts on buying a Turnkey Cobra, or if there are any local shops that can finish a Roller for me. I'm considering Unique, ERA, Superformance, but leaning heavily towards a Kirkham. I just don't have anywhere to work on the car.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sheldon, ERA can deliver a kit, roller or turn key...any way you want it. Keep in mind the are somewhat local for you, and that means a lot. The car is second to none, but isn't cheap.

Default Thanks guys!

I appreciate the input. Prices and specs are all over the place, so it's always great to have some unbiased opinions.

Sheldon:

Might want to check with the MA DMV on their requirements for registering and inspection of kit cars/replicas and emissions certification/testing, which may or may not be different than registering a production vehicle. Also, the insurance

Included should be the documentation and Bill of Sale needed, or not needed, for major drive train components in addition to the Cobra, etc., etc.,

Sheldon. You should DEFINITELY take a ride down to New Britain, Ct. - it's only a couple of hours from you - and visit Peter Portante and Bob Putnam (GM and Head Engineer respectively) at ERA. They build a lot of turnkeys and final price depends a lot on how crazy you want to get on the motor. I had Keith Craft build my 331 stroker motor and ship it to ERA for installation. If you don't go for the Kirkham - ERA is the way to go (my opinion -this is my second cobra). If you DO go for the Kirkham - congratulations - it is first and foremost a company with an impeccable reputation (as is ERA), and their aluminum bodies - and overall engineering, is first class. Kirkham has used quite a few Keith Craft motors (and Keith has a 427 Kirkham).

Sheldon,

We can discuss at the breakfast Sat 8th. We have a great variety of cars and a local KMS. (out of MA) Hold off on dropping a deposit until you are fully educated on the subject.

If you can afford a KMS there "IS" nothing short of CSX better!

If you are thinking about a Superformance, I was talking with Jimmy Klimshuk from S. Orleans. He specializes in power train installations for SPF's. His tel # 508-958-1810. The business name is Coastline Classics. He seems like a nice guy but I just met him about 2 months ago.

I live in Quincy if you want to go for a ride in my SPF
