Club Activities in the Northeast

I may be getting a Cobra soon and want to know what type of activities the New England Club has throughout the year. Interested in breakfast runs, scenic rides and just plain get togethers. If anyone can let me know, I'd appreciate it!!

Hey Cat:
I hope you're not from Connecticut, since by law Connecticut Cobra owners are not permitted to drive their cars.

The wife and I have been violating this law for many years now and have yet to be ticketed. Come spring we will be headed to many of our usual destinations which include Lime Rock, Mystic, Essex, the Fish Tail in Madison, Marcus Dairy in Danbury, and Vintage in Wallingford.

We are working hard to change that Bob. But you are correct. Most driving events take place in other states. We are already looking forward to Cobra Revolution in PA/NJ and hope to get a similar event up here.

Where are you located?

I prior years I have put together an event list. I will do the same this year.

Here is the link to last years "NE Cobra Event List".

If you or anyone else reading this thread has any Cobra events to add for this year, let me know.

Are you making a list again this year?
If so, be sure to list the annual Cobra cookout here in Manchester NH area. This year we will have NE Viper club as well as NE Lotus and the event is already in their plans. Now we will need the support of Cobras, Coupes, and 40's so we are not shown up.

Rain date 8-03-08

Don't forget the convoy to SAAC33 this year. We will travel through Southern NH, MA, Conn, NY, and into NJ. Hook up the CB!

Hey Sean:
A summer and a half ago Jay Bentley and his wife and my wife and I did a cruise of Mystic, Watch Hill and Misquamicut following lunch at the Cove Fish Market. Turned a lot of heads (especially Jay's CSX). Maybe this coming summer a few of us could again get together. Ocean Beach, Mohegan Sun?

Bob,

My car is white with Titanium stripes. Maybe you've seen me around. Anyway, The wife and I would love to join with you guys and take in the sights. I'm in Richmond, RI (Rt95 and 138- or exit 3) and just under a half hour from Ocean Beach.... !

Sean
Contact me off-line and I'll send ya my numbers.

catt770 03-05-2008 03:23 AM

I am in Windsor. New London is not far and I am close to the MA line as well. Anything within 3 hours is close enough for me.

Bob, That was a great time. Lets make a point and do it again this summer. The more cars the better. Pick a date and lets do it.

My wife and I took the cobra to Newport, RI. last year for the day and also had a great time. I'm not crazy about parking my car and walking away from it, but I got over it. Had a great lunch, did some shopping and then drove around the mansions and ocean drive. We had a great time and will probably do it again this summer.

Hey Cat,

There is also a website http://www.ffcobra.com/ mostly, Factory Five guys visit, but anyone is encouraged and welcome. Breakfasts 2x monthly in various locations, cruises, outings and anything else anyone suggests. We are trying hard this year to combine forces with other areas so that there are more choices for everyone. Click on the website and check out the Northeast forum. If you have specific questions, feel free to contact me. Welcome.

I don't know about you, but the FF site (ffcobra.com) will not let me register. Do they know I have an SPF?

Bob

Bob,

Same with me.... I believe it has to do with our email addresses. Mine is Yahoo.

Ron.... I WANT TO SEE THE LOTUS!:D

Sean:

Nice list so far. Hopefully we won't have to wait until the Tasca Show to hook up again. I was down at the "Sun" last weekend but didn't see ya at any tables. Keep in touch!! :3DSMILE:

catt770 03-17-2008 04:28 PM

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for the responses. Last week I put a deposit on a Backdraft from Vintage Motorsports. Jay and Brian have been great with me and patient while I did my research. Cobra should be ready by the middle of June. Just in time for the Summer. I can hardly wait!! Look forward to meeting everyone along the way.

I'm not sure what the deal is with registering. I haven't heard that there is a problem but the forum was down a few months ago for new software and it makes me wonder if there is a problem. I have seen some new registers recently (and from NH with non FFR) so don't take it too personally. I wasn't aware of any email requirements.

FFR.com issues

Hey I posted regarding the difficulty registering. Keep an eye on FFR.com and see if there is any response. I'll try to find our what's going on.

Ron
