I would be glad to chat with berts, and I have cones, however unless we sat outside they do not have an eating area that would seat us as a group. and on week end mornings they are usually very busy.
as an alternative, I have a huge outside kitchen, complete cooking facilities, water fall, pool, easily take care of 30 or more people. with plenty of parking on pavement in my driveways.
I would be glad to give a short tour of all my other cars, not a museum but just a working mans 2.5 acre place with 20 classic cars in varioius stages.
we could easily do our own breakfast here and then go for a cruise. or do breakfast someplace else, go for a cruise and as part of the cruise stop by for early afternoon snack and tour. or wait till hot weather, do a full scale bar-b-que bring the kids and swim, play in the pond waterfall and just hang out.
or we can do all the above over a 6 month timeframe.

berts dinner in Sheldon for march 20
I just checked with berts, they can seat about 30 on the patio outside, they have 6 tables with 5 to 6 at each table.
they have no problem doing individual checks. if we let them know they will post a note with the waitresses to not seat anyone outside in prep for us.
All we have to do is call them to say it is 'a go'.
For those of you that do not know Sheldon is on Grantline. about 10 miles straight east of 99 highway and Calvine road intersection and pretty much 10 miles straight south of bradshaw or sunrise and 50.
I have cones that I can take down and set up for reserve parking.
just give me the word,
Ray

Should have checked the date sooner - I have a Celebration of Life Memorial to attend on the 20th of March in Avila Beach. Maybe it will rain and you will have to reschedule for April

Phil, you know it is a fishing trip. You can't get that close to the water and not fish.

Thud,
Spent the first part of February in Baja fishing - we did great and I got it out of my system for a while This breakfast sounds like a good time - sorry I'm going to miss it.
BTW - long time no see.

Sounds like a good place to meet. A couple of us have discussed Berts' as a possible place to meet on a few occasions. I will be there and am sure that most of the Elk Grove guys will show up, too. I assume you are planning for the 3rd Saturday, as usual.

Pat: that is the attitude I like to see, we will put you on as cook.
But for the home cooked breakfast and a day of more fun lets wait until maybe may or june, this way the weather is not so unsettled, for march 20 people can come see the place get acquainted and we can schedule a bigger better event for everyone, maybe make a swim day for the kids as well.
not sure I should mention the quad and go kart race track we have here.
we will keep you down as the head cook.

Sounds like a great plan for the spring Ray. Won't be able to make the March breakfast but look forward to meeting up next time.

march 20, 9am Berts diner Sheldon
hey gang; I am gonna notify Berts of us coming in about 9am, on march 20.
Can't miss the place, just get on Grantline road and head to the little berg of Sheldon. Do not need a head count, just show up and enjoy, after breakfast those that would like a quick tour of the homestead are welcome.
if you are running late just come on by the house anyway. if you would like my cell number for directions just email me and we will get you the address and directions.
if you can let me know how many cobras coming I will set out appropriate cones to reserve space.
