An oblique right without any warning. I'm told the CHP call it "Suicide Curve."

Unfortunately that's what can happen when you don't know the road.

Extremely lucky no bad injuries.

cycleguy55 10-29-2019 08:21 PM

Looks like driver lost it coming around curve from left, climbed embankment on right, then it rolled over.

patrickt 10-29-2019 08:36 PM

I'd like to see how the roll bar held up.%/

That's a good point.

I don't know how there were no significant injuries.

Yes, it is my car. No markings/signs coming up to a right angle turn. Would have made it but ran up on a berm on the other side of the road that rolled the car.

It held up fine, although I suffered a pretty good concussion and required stitches. My wife has told me the next one needs dual roll bars (she has a head full of staples). I was Life Flighted to Reno thinking I had a brain bleed. We were cleaned up and released that night. Lucky isn't a strong enough description!

patrickt 10-31-2019 08:38 PM

I'm glad you're ok. Yes, next one gets dual roll bars. Padded too.

Alfa02 10-31-2019 09:52 PM

Thank you Phil for the explanation. Sorry (All kidding aside) to hear it's your car. But thing's could have been a hellva lot worse (Cars can be fixed, people sometime not as much :)) . After yours & Dannr55 incidents last year, I'm starting to think a roll bar - roll bars, are the way to go in my 427 Street car, the 289 Slabside already have one. Best Wishes on both of you & and the Cobras speedy recovery Cheers Tom.

Phil - I don't know you personally, but I'm very happy that you and your wife are now both OK.

And then attention turns to the car .... is it car repairable? .... insured adequately? .... and is the engine OK, or too early to tell? I noticed that the oil pan took a hit.

Again, best wishes for a full recovery in all respects.

Cheers from Australia,
Glen

Thanks! To early to tell, but I would bet it is history. Don't know about the motor and yes, it is adequately insured.

Phil, so glad to hear you and your wife weren't severely injured. I always hate to hear when one of our cars are involved in an accident. I hope you both heal quickly.
