Default Plug for a local FE engine builder / Sacto. CA

Hey NORCAL Cobra people, here is a quick plug for a local guy...

For those of you in the Sacramento area and others looking to build or modify FE engines for your Cobra (390, 427, 428, etc.) , there is a local guy building some really nice engines out here. He does little or no advertising, does not have a website yet... too busy building engines. Tom just created his id on Clubcobra this week, after me prodding him several times to get involved, to start sharing his knowledge and experiences on some of these threads. Tom's ID is FE Specialties.

Tom Lucas (owner) of FE Specialties completed my FE motor exactly as agreed, did a great job, and seems to have a real passion to design and build FEs the right way. He did some real nice cylinder head work for a good friends 390 recently too. At any time, you can go into his shop and he'll have some interesting builds going on. He has a real nitche for making motors flow some AIR and he knows what it means to match everything so it WORKS!

Tom specializes in FEs, but I witnissed some brand new SV0 460/514s, and a few 351 Windsors in there for porting, blueprinting, and performance setup. For the budget FE builder, he also builds a mean 390/FE that just sounds incredible on his in-house engine run/break-in stand. He'll set up the motor, carb, distributor, do the proper break-in and get it dialed in for you for about the same price as most people charge for just the engine build alone.

I can't wait to see his next two project buildup Mustangs at the Drags. One of them is going to run a 427 with 15:1 compression. That will be something to hear, whether its fast or not. His dyno sheets are pretty impressive too...

I found Tom's prices to be reasonable, and he just seems to do the extra work for the passion of it, so I thought I'd pass it on as a nice plug for Tom Lucas at FE Specialties. The number is easy to remember, just think 3 then 390 to 427. A nice guy too!
