Default Any NorCal Cobra one-day-drives yet?

Hi All,
there is a small group of Cobra owners in the Sacramento/El Dorado/Elk Grove area chompin at the bit to put together a Cobra one-day-drive to the hills for breakfast, a stop, and trip back to Sac. Something within the next 2-weeks maybe...

Another idea that was brought up was a possible trip down to the Delta or something... just passing it along to see who is motivated. Darn, all these nice Cobras just sittin in the garage. Time to do something before the real heat sets in.

Any good breakfast or one-day type trips destinations to consider ???

Matt M.?

Mary / David - Borden?

Allen L.?

Pete Cala?

- Got your ears on?

Default Hi Lew...

Hi Lew,
we would be glad to have your company.

people are emailing me directly rather than responding to this thread...

So far we have five on the list for the day-drive. I email'd Mary Borden and Matt M & Crew to see if they had a group to join in too.

If something more confirmed comes together, we'll definitely let you know. We are looking for about 20 Cobras before we set up the drive. Thanks!

Hi Tony,
sounds like a nice event. Is it stop/go, or is there some decent driving time as well? How many miles between stops, etc...

Any details would be appreciated so I can pass it along to some of the people up here. Got a few guys who need motivation to get their cars back together before it gets too hot.

Thanks!

Duane,

If you go to home on the Website there is a Map, winery stops, catered lunch(BBQ), cobras in flights etc...

This thread has more information:

Larry and Mike Monster do a great job setting this up.

Default Same weekend as the WCC - bummer...

Hey Tony,

it looks like your Tour De' Vin event is on the same weekend as the Wine Country Classic at Sonoma/Infineon. Hmmm. Most of the people I run with are going to the WCC on that Saturday for the yearly thing...

However, I spoke with a few and we're wondering about another possibility...

Q) What Time of day is the Tour De' Vin Barb-B-Q? Where is it exactly, and When does the Bar-B-Q end?

... It's possible some of us could leave Sears Point/Infineon later Saturday afternoon, skip the after race drive-tour through Napa, and could maybe meet up with you guys at the Tour De Vin Bar-B-Q afterwards instead...if it would not be too late, or not a problem for the Tour De' Vin organizer? just a thought... let me know.

Thanks!

Hi Duane,

Mark your calendar's now, this is an event you won't want to miss. Join your fellow Cobra enthusiasts for the 2003 2nd annual BACC "Tour de Vin". Tour the backroads of California's lost wine country stopping at historic locations to challenge your skills and sample some of the world class vintages offered in this 150 year old wine region.

Tour the picturesque backroads of the areas historic Rancho 's- " San Ramon", "Santa Rita", El "Valle de San Jose" and "Las Positas" (which now make up the Tri-Valley)

Sample the areas award winning vintages

Default Last Minute 1/2 day Sunday drive, stop, eat, return...

Hey Matt, Lew, Pete, Mark, others...

just passing it along... a small group drive sort of came together last minute for Sunday 5/18/03.

- Meet Sunday at 09:00 a.m. meet at Starbucks at Pavillions on Fair Oaks Blvd. (leaving shortly)

- Following a group to the English car show and swap meet at Dixon.

- Will check out the cars and swap meet for an hour or so in Dixon.

- Go to a place for lunch ..a slop diner or somewhere.

- Some will head back to Sac after lunch, and one/two cars are driving on to Bodega Bay for the day...

Just a casual drive if you make it.... Have a nice weekend.

See Ya. Duane

Default Thanks Tony.

Hey Tony, thanks again for the invite. It looks like most of the people I know will be going to the Wine Country Classic on the same weekend as Tour De' Vin, and getting out too late to make the Bar-B-Q on Saturday. I tried, no-go. Hopefully the various NorCal camps will ll be able to meet up again on another weekend in the future.
