Who's Kirkham is this? I spoke with the owner for a minute but I didn't get his name. This machine sounds AWESOME! I would like more details about the engine and exhaust. -Justin

Hoof Hearted
You're right about the sound produced by Maurice's Monster.
It has been described as "nasty"; "mean" and "vicious" but "awesome" says it too.

Justin,
My car has been sort of loud from day one.
Some of the guys even asked me if I had mufflers. ha
The engine is a Shelby large bore with some stroke added for 511 cubes. I think the cam is right at the top of civility, or bottom, for a hydraulic roller.
Keith Craft did the build, 664 horse and about the same for torque. Runs pretty good.
Sorry I had to leave the fun after lunch, but I was on duty for the family.
See you guys next month
Maurice

Maurice's car once idled to a stop in front of my house. It woke both my 2 and 4 year old sleeping children from their naps. They both then immediately began to cry out of fear of being run over by an errant freight train.
I love that motor.
I"ve thought of cutting the muffler out of my pipes just so that my more wussy 427SO could measure up.

One time Maurice/Tom were next to me on the Freeway, him in 5th gear, literally idling at around 65mph and you could still hear the cam loping along; kind of made me stop and think for a second what the top speed would be.

Awesome sound for sure from Maurice's Cobra. I remember the sounds from Father's Day going through the small towns on the way to Hot Rod Cafe.
