The Historic Trans am cars are not to be missed. With out a doubt, with the exception of the Can Am cars, these are the best to see. For those of you who may be to young to have seen them (you must have at least a LITTLE gray in your hair), thirty 60's & 70's Mustangs, Camaros, Javelins banging fenders (not now) are not to be missed. When they are on static display they all have a placard on a stand telling all the history of the car. These are for the most part the REAL DEAL. Great show!

A little history: In Setember or October of 1967 there was a Trans am race (one time venue) sponsored to some extent by Gallo Winery called the "Gallo Cup". It was held on the grooved cement runways of the old Crows Landing Naval Station. It has since been used until recently for numerous Auto X's. The surface is so rough that the cars were getting 5-6 laps per set of tires. This was before tech is so involved as it is now but a fact that surface years later was that Penske's team with Mark Donahue driving teched one particular car (Blue Z28) and replaced it with an acid dipped & lightened car for the race. No body saw the switch.

Schedule for Historic Trans Am
