2nd Annual NorCal Cobras Toy Drive & Santa Hat Run...Dec 20th

Hey dudes!
It's that time of year again. Anyone who was there last year remembers what a great time it was. With a goal of 56 toys, we were able to give 80+ toys to the hospital. Awesome! We did it for the kids, but I think we all walked away with something as well. :)

This year will follow a similar format, but a different hospital. I have already made the arrangements, all you have to do is show up.

Date is Dec 20th (third Saturday)

-9:00am Breakfast at Perko's Cafe
(formerly Bradshaw's) near Hwy 50 and Bradshaw. I spoke with Perko's and they plan to reserve parking for us like last year. They can host 30-50 for breakfast but I need to let them know beforehand. Address is 9647 Micron Ave, Sacramento, CA 95827

-11:00am Toy Drop-off to benefit Sutter Hospital pediatric department at 5151 F st.
I propose a goal of 75 toys to donate. If each person brings atleast 2 toys we should be able meet that goal. Please remember these kids are very sick and must be in a clean environment. With that in mind, all toys must be new. I met with the hospital last week and they are very excited. Toys can be stuffed animals, play doh, anything from newborn to age 18. The hospital did express a need for current children's movies on DVD. The plan is for us to use the physician's parking lot in front of the hospital. Address is 5151 F st, Sacramento, CA.

-Santa Hat Run
Once again I propose the "Gary River Run" and I nominate Gary r8rvenm to lead the cruise if attending. It is I5 north a bit, exit Garden Highway, take a left and cruise up the river a while.

A few things to keep in mind:
-Santa Hats/antlers/elf hats required! You can get a santa hat at the dollar store so no excuses.
-This is a rain or shine event! Past events have been pushed out or cancelled due to rain, not this one. If it rains throw on the top or borrow mom's Buick, it will still be fun.
-Please post your commitment if you are coming, how many people, how many toys you will be bringing. This way I can track the numbers for the restaurant, and how close we are to meeting our goal for the toy drive.

Thank you in advance for your participation. Like last year, this will be a memorable and fun experience and maybe we can even brighten the day of a few sick kids here in town.

So... time to get the "count me in" list started:

Attending: 1
Bringing: 3 toys

Please reply accordingly.

Thank you,
Justin

Oops-had to edit. I'll be in LA so cancel my spot in the cobra. Next year I'm in, but I will get something to my dad to drop off for the kids.

Nice Job Jason.

Jason,

Thanks for rotating it to Sutter this time. I'm sure my comrades there will be most appreciative of this. If possible, I might try to meet you guys down there or something. I'm definitely not driving mine, and probably not riding in a Cobra either until I'm better able to do so...not quite there yet. :D Thanks again...

Count me in - just so happens my wife is a maternity nurse at Sutter Memorial Hospital and has to work that weekend - so even though she won't be along for the ride, she will be there taking care of the newbies and will most likely greet us :)

Yes, the sleigh has a gash! From the hoof of a reindeer? Yes, us Grinches will be there. Is our heart two sizes too small? Are we going to Whoville for Who-pudding and Who-roast-beast? I can't forget Max the dog with one antler tied with thread to his head. ED

thanks John, smart-ass
