Which route are you taking?
CANCEL on Highway 80 route
Go Berryessa. Road problems on 80. |
Breakfast sounds like a plan. Early though...
|
Hey Guys - The WCCC II is Sunday August 2nd, not the 1st. Hate to have you show up a day early.
|
Good catch Bob. I know Duane knows it's on Sunday but glad you're reading this stuff. I read this earlier and didn't catch the typo, but there's a lot I don't catch these days:)
Hey Pat! Hey Duane, talked with Gary tonight, he's bringing a group. We'll take over Mary's Pizza for lunch, as usual! John |
Fixed it in the post but can't fix the title.
THANKS Bob! |

Hey John, Did he say what time they are leaving? Looks like Pat and I will be meeting for breakfast at Brookfields at 7:30 or so and on the road at 08:15. I suspect Gary's group will get there later for lunch, 'eh? |
Duane,
Gary wants to get an early start so maybe check with him. He'll probably want to hook up with you. He said Kei & Miki want to come as well. Saw them at the Roundup and they're in town for a while. That's cool. Love your correction Duane, I think you've made it clear now :) John |
Duane,
I'm hoping to get some folks to meet at the Starbucks on Fair Oaks Blvd in the Pavilions and take the Berryessa Route. |
Phil,
Edited - 07/28/09 DEPARTING from Brookfields. 7:45a.m. Going the Lake Berryessa Route due to SERIOUS road surface conditions on Highway 80. |
Sounds good - If this heat doesn't subside I'll have to reconsider my options. I'm getting too old to be driving in this 100+ unless there is plenty of cold beer and shade!
|
Duane,
The wife and I will be looking for you guys at Brookfield. Will be good to meet you. I'm a little worried about the heat too Phil. Not worried about the car, but you can sweat yer tail off in these cars on a hot day, making the drive a sweaty one. Jeff |
John Marcey, Can you email me at wanab5150@comcast.net. I have 500 photos from the 2009 Roundup that I am going to send to you.
I had the white Tahoe and was with Ed Sweet, Dan, and Duane. tom |
Duane,
You and Pat could meet Phil and I at Starbucks at 8:30 if you are also taking the berryessa route. Maurice |
Quote:
Which Starbucks are you goin to be at? I plan to be at the Pavillions Starbucks (as usual) and 8:30am sounds good... we gotta beat the heat! Ron |

TO: BROOKFIELDS MEETUP GROUP:
- CHANGE of DEPARTURE TIME AND drive route plans. Please read. - DEPARTING BROOKFIELDS at 7:45am. SHARP! I posted this message over on the Western States Cobra Group meetup site. __________________________________________________ ________________ Your Organizer, Duane Cooney, sent the following message to some members of Western States Cobra Group (WSCG): ---------------------------------------------------------------- To: NorCal Cobras Headed to Sonoma Wine Country Cobra Classic II Multiple complaints about Highway 80 conditions Heads Up - There have been multiple complaints about the condition of road surfaces and driving your Cobras on Highway 80 West from Sacramento headed down towards Sonoma. I checked with a few others who drive that route regularly and there ARE new sections going in an major transitions that can damage the lower front of your car on Highway 80 if you are not extra careful and aware of surface changes. This is an attempt to reach out to those folks where were originally caravanning and meeting at Brookfields in Rancho and Pavillions in Sacto, to let everyone know we'll all be leaving about 30 minutes earlier out of Sacramento. Maybe we'll cross paths on the highway departing Sacramento, or through Lake Berryessa. ALTERNATE ROUTE OPTION: Many folks have decided to take the scenic back way through Lake Berryessa instead. The get-together starts at 10:00a.m. The back route can take up to 2-1/2 hours depending on traffic that early on Sunday. Brookfields Group UPDATE: Now departing at 07:45 a.m. ALTERNATE DIRECTIONS: Sac to Sonoma Directions, compliments of Phil G: (Thanks Phil), either everyone will be going the right direction or the wrong direction, but the good news is - everyone will be going in the SAME direction - what the hell, we all just wanted to go on a drive to somwhere anyway 'eh.
