Default September 13th Brunch - San Geronimo

Thanks to Christine and Dan, our September 13th North Bay Cobra Club breakfast will be at Two Bird Cafe in San Geronimo. Two Bird Cafe is located at 625 San Geronimo Valley Dr. San Geronimo, CA 94963, just off Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Two Bird Cafe is a destination restaurant with guest cottages. Check this link if you want more info about Two Bird Cafe: http://twobirdcafe.com/ Note that our BACC and NorCal cousins are welcome but RSVPs are needed, direct them to me via a PM or direct post, thanks.
Tony, the owner of the cafe suggested that we park in the Post Office parking lot, which is directly across the street from the cafe and he will cone it off for us that morning. The parking lot has 6 spaces, but there is more room for parking in the lot, just not designated spaces. It is also paved and shaded. The cafe has a dirt lot, but they can't cone that off for us, as they have overnight guests.

We will meet at the Cheese Factory in Petaluma at 9:15 AM. Two Bird Cafe is about a 15-20 minute drive from The Cheese Factory. (Take "D" Street west from Petaluma) The Cheese Factory is on the Petaluma-Point Reyes Road about 1/2 mile west of the intersection with Novato Blvd. There is good parking at the Cheese Factory, restrooms and of course, great cheese for those interested. At 9:30 AM we will caravan from the Cheese Factory heading southwest on the Point Reyes-Petaluma Rd 3.4 miles to Nicasio Valley Rd. Turn left on Nicasio Valley Rd. and travel past Rancho Nicasio. When you reach St. Francis Drake Blvd, continue straight. Turn right on San Gernonimo Valley Rd. The restaurant is about 1/10 of a mile on the left, the Post Office parking lot is on the LEFT. Weather can be anything from sunny to foggy so be prepared.

Directions to Cheese Factory from the north:
  • Proceed south on Highway 101.
  • Exit at E. Washington and head into downtown Petaluma, about 1 mile.
  • Left turn onto Petaluma Blvd, proceed about 1/2 mile.
  • Right turn onto "D" Street. Proceed about 8 miles ("D" changes names to Red Hill Road and then Petaluma - Point Reyes Rd)Cheese Factory is just beyond Fire Station on the right.

Directions to Cheese Factory from the south:

Several routes from Highway 101. Most interesting is Lucas Valley Rd.
  • Exit Highway 101 at Lucas Valley Road and proceed north about 15 miles passing through the community of Nicasio and Nicasio Reservoir.
  • At "T" intersection with Petaluma- Point Reyes Rd, turn right and proceed for about 3 miles. Cheese Factory will be on your left.

Those traveling from the south may want to meet us at the restaurant instead of driving to the Cheese Factory first. Looking forward to a fun outing. Remember, we MUST have a head count.
