Tony-thanks agan for setting this all up-got the tickets today-4 of us snakes from this area will be showing up saturday morning. Last years Historic's were fantastic-walking through the pits-watching the action on the track.

Tony,
I received my tickets and your directions to meet up in Auburn. Thanks for arranging this again this year. I'm really looking forward to another gathering of cobras and enjoying the Historics.
The address you gave for the meeting point (186 6th St SE, Auburn) doesn't show up in Google. Although 305 6th St SE does. Is the meeting point the 76 station across the street from Denny's?
Thanks again Tony,
Bruce

Meeting Place for Tacoma Drivers
Last year several of the Tacoma area (and south) drivers met at Krispy Kremes in the Puyallup Mall parking lot. I plan to do the same again, departing from there at 7:30am and head to the meeting point in Auburn.
Looking forward to seeing everybody on the 30th.
Bruce

Yes the 76 station has a large parking lot and folks can fuel up if the need to do so.

Tony, there seems to be some confusion as to where the group is meeting up prior to going to the track. Could you clarify?
Thx
Bob

Sorry for all the confusion, here is a meeting spot on google maps, to confim it's the 76 Gas station on the corner of 6th Street SE & Auburn Way S in Auburn WA as it is easy off and easy on to 18. There is a 24 hour Subway a block away if folks want to get something for lunch, there are also fast food places along with a Denny's for early morning eats.
Meeting spot for the Historics on Saturday, 76 Gas station, just come off exit and station is just across street
Image of where we are meeting

Weather not looking so good, hopefully rain will hold off tomorrow. If raining I doubut that I will bring the cobra, may still go to races though. So if raining I will NOT be meeting up at the 76 gas station

Had a light turn out at the 2012 PNW Historic races this year, blame it on weather as it was overcast, dry until about 11:30AM and then it rained, so much of the day was spent in the mist of the rain. Had some good racing though, good large bore folks showed up. Thanks to all who showed up given the weather conditions.

Amazing 2012 PWN Historics Weekend
Saturday morning’s drive down from the north of Everett was a few showers off and on. At the track, it was warm and humid most of the morning and into early afternoon was still dry until the parade laps when we had some real rain and a wet track that pretty much trashed the fastest racers, for the afternoon’s racing.
Last race of the Historics Small Bore Saturday afternoon, had a nasty loop out in the standing water coming out of corner #9, and ended as a head-on into the wall in front of the grandstands, the day ended under the yellow flag. Saturday was our clubs best showing with 6 cars in the corral, and sunshine all the way home.
Sunday was a wet, pithy marine layer mist that managed to pass through the iron clad waterproofing for my front windscreen to drip on my left knee. The pithy lasted until south Seattle and thank the Lord; there was not a drop the rest of the day at the track. Even though I was the only Club Cobra car in the coral on Sunday it was almost perfect weather overall for racing. But the highlight to round out a perfect day at the NW Historics. The Large Bore final race was a walk-away-win by our brethren, 1963 AC Cobra #04 (pic in last post) driven by an Auburn local, John McKenna!
I caught up with John and his team owner after the race. They explained how they had executed a perfectly planned game plan to “play with them” for the first 6-laps before John letting the hammer down on his stroker 400ci and walking away with the win.
Although the Can-Am racer Lola Frissbee GR2 ripping at 200MPH was almost as exciting; still nothing beat watching the Cobra 5-10 seconds ahead of the 2nd place car, haulin-ass down the straight capping out at 150MPH!!!!!
Cheers!

Turn 9 and 10 are very bad in the rain, standing water forms in both turns, also turn 9 has the pavment change (as turn 8 is the pits).
The most I can get is 140 with a stock bottom end SBF 302 on the front at PR.
Great weekend though, maybe better weather next year.
