I just bought a set of Longacre scales. I'm currently waiting for a set of Race Ramps to arrive so I can set my car up. For many years I used Longacre corner scales to set up large scale model RC cars. It makes a world of difference the first time you setup a chassis using scales. My plan was to offer a service to other Cobra owners for a nominal fee. Dont' like the idea of renting them out.

Longacre offers great deals on scratch and dent models, also just drive out to Monroe and pick them up at Longacre.

Longacre Racing Online -- Refurbished

Besides the scales, pick up a bump steer gauge, caster camber guage, toe plates and some turn plates to make the setup complete.

Well Ray, I think I'm heading up there tomorrow after work to pick up a set. After I'm done you are more than welcome to borrow them.

Document your weights both "before and after" for us, along with your impressions of the cornering improvement. Of course, the more pics the better -- and don't forget to loosen your sway bars before you start shifting weight... and then don't forget to tighten them back up.

Yes Mom.

They are ordered and they will try to have them ready for pickup tomorrow. If not, then it will sometime next week.

When you go up talk to the folks at the front office and they will make sure that you are getting the right scales.

no, not really, just take advantage of the in person visit and have them take you around and explain all the different scales they have, they have a lot of useful information to listen to that you don't get over the phone or on the web.

... or he could have been saying "engineers tend to believe they know everything when really they could benefit from simply listening to the guy behind the counter."

I'm one of those rare engineers that listens to the folks out in the shop. I respect them, they respect me.

No doubt that's why he didn't say it then.

I have what you are saving up for.

To me it's sense less to use them once a year and then let them set until the next time. I'm planning on letting people borrow them, so give me a few weeks to build some ramps and then they will be up for others to use if you are interested.

Hello Ray,

I should be done with them no later than the first of June.

Karen ordered new hardwood floors for the main part of the house, so I'm busy getting ready for that. After that's done I can play with the car again.

So how did the scales work out? If and when you loan them out I would be interested as I will not have the $$$ to buy some until after race season.

I'm done with them until I put coil overs on the Corvette.

Ray is first in line and you are second Tony.

Need to get a hold of Ray I guess.

Well Tony, I have not heard from Ray, so you're up.

If you can meet up on Sunday, let me know where and when.
