Sorry to not meet you yet again. Enjoy Allen, my daughters b-day is Sunday so it's out of the question.

Meet at Everybody's Store

What time. 12 Noon? 11:00AM?

Anybody want to meet enroute? We are coming from Snohomish.

Dale

ReMorton 08-22-2012 07:43 PM

..I'm up for it at 11 am if that works for you? Suggest Arco station west of I-5 at Old Fairhaven Pkwy.

Blue Cobra 08-23-2012 10:23 AM

I'll be hitting Highway 9 northbound at Big Lake. I believe you'll drive by Van Zandt either way and I would like to meet the group there to avoid I-5. No way I can miss the cars. If that's out of the way, I'm wide open for any place that works better.

Thanks,
Kevin

ReMorton 08-23-2012 10:54 AM

....the drive north from Big Lake up Hwy 9 trumps I-5 for sure. We'll pick up Hwy 9 further up. Will see you in Van Zandt. Have safe trip.

Blue Cobra 08-23-2012 11:28 AM

Catching up in Deming vs Van Zandt?

MapQuest shows ~40 minutes to Van Zandt from Fairhaven if your going the south route around Lake Padden then marauding through rural Bellingham towns up around Lake Whatcom on the north side where you hit Highway-542 towards Deming to Mt. Baker.

If thats the route your going, then you will need to backtrack south down Highway-9 to Van Zandt. Unless the Van Zandt store is a planned destination, I.E. great treats, maybe it would more convenient for everyone if I caught the snake pack in Deming?

I can sit by the road and when I hear and see the blurr of race cars ripping by, we can jump in the back of the pack (after the State Troopers chasing you all).

If so let me know, and I'll be in Deming by ~11:30am

Kev and Di

ReMorton 08-23-2012 11:50 AM

Major brain fart, the route we usually take from Fairhaven is down thru *Lake Sammish*on Lake Sammish Rd not Padden, then up Cain Lake Rd, over to Park Rd which connects with Hwy 9. Straight shot north on Hwy 9 then to Van Zandt, Deming etc.
We have a favorite restaurant/brewery past Deming, North Fork Brewery, so this is a favorite firday night run on the motorcycles or in the Cobra..
So, since Van Zandt is on the way, we'll still try to hook up with Tim at noon as planned.

On way back you might want to consider Chuckanutt south, then tocook rd south east to Hwy 9.

Blue Cobra 08-23-2012 01:13 PM

Yeah that route you would jump on to Highway 9 around Mirror Lake about 10 miles south of Acme (beep beep). So Van Zandt at Noon it is.

BTW, after returning from the Coast with a engine problem, I discovered I had worn the #6 camshaft exhaust lobe almost round, and tore down the Cobra top Sunday night, and took it to RHP Tuesday. So Dianne and I will be the group's chase car in my Cobra back up ride a quicksilver colored Z06. Hope that's not too embarrassing, I'll park in a far away corner of the lot so as to be disassociated with the "real" vintage racers.

Cheers!
Kevin

There is a slight variation in the plan for Saturday. Instead of Everybody's Store,
there is a restaurant on Hwy 9 called the Blue Grouse. This is just south of Acme
and Van Zant. We will meet up there at 11:30 and have a sit down lunch before heading up the mountain.
Kevin, just take Hwy 9 from Big Lake, if you see a white cobra with blue stripes wave to Dale and Gloria.
I think you all have my cell number call if any questions.
See you soon.

Tim

ReMorton 08-23-2012 09:37 PM

Tim:Mary and I will see you there. Looking forward to meeting some new folks and having a great day

Well it looks like it's going to be a Cobra Weekend.

Unless I get a frantic phone call between now and 8:00 in the morning, I will see you gentlemen at the Blue Mountain Grill at 11:30.

If I'm not there, it means things went to hell at work, so don't wait for me.

Silverback51 08-25-2012 09:51 PM

What a day. Weather was beautiful. Got to see old friends I have not seen in a while (my fault), and meet some new people.

Had a great time, and I will have to do it again. Next time I will bring Karen and a paper bag so I can cover her head when we are going through the areas with drop offs.

DonC 08-26-2012 08:06 AM

It didn't happen if there aren't any photos.

Tim: Even though we had to bring the chase car, literally ( keeping up with the 4 road beasts in front of us was a challenge), Mary and I had a great time! So, many thanks for making this run happen, we really enjoyed the opportunity to meet some more nice people in the Club. Looking forward to the next trip. (I'll even bring the Cobra next time..)

dblbarrel 08-26-2012 07:19 PM

I am glad every one came, as John said it was good to see old friends, and make new ones. Glad you could make it John.
It was my pleasure to go with you people.
