2023 Historic Races (Pacific Raceways) July 1
It's time again for the Historic Race's @ Pacific Raceways with Sorven (Kent WA.) Saturday July 1. The featured marque is FORD, with all cars built by Shelby. This is the year to fly our flag high & proud I've spoken with some of the Portland guys, that hope to make it. We will be parking with/next to (SAAC) members in the car corral. We want to make this year, the best, last time we had 13 Cobras, lets at least double that?? The poster this year, has ONE car on it (Picture to come) a ink drawing of a race COBRA coming around a corner, heading toward you, (Very cool looking!!) This is a Pre-enter post, as they haven't postered the form to fill out yet, nor the picture of the poster (I'm still a Sorven member so I got a sneak-peek) Just looking to see how much interest we will have. Will add to this post as I get more info. GET READY!!! Cheers Tom. |

Man I wish I could make this! As you already know Tom, I have commitments that first week of July. But this sounds like an amazing weekend! If I can find a way to be in two places at once, I'll make it happen. |

I know you would Pat. You're AK would be a HUGE hit there, especially with David's history with Sorven. You're a Cobra man first and foremost now. Cheers Tom. Last edited by Alfa02; 03-25-2023 at 04:38 AM..

My Cobra is wearing the WWR livery and it would be cool to see that represented there.

Hi Mark, if you were talking about the FFR race series, I'm not quite sure if they ran Pacific Raceways, but one of our member's, runs his FFR roadster in Sorven. I do know that we will have 2-FFR Daytona coupes, and 1- small block roadster (Tony's FFR) plus one big block (Kirkham, Holman & Moody 427S/O, he's runs at the front of the pack ) plus I"M SURE some real Cobras too (Tom B. 289FIA should be there). Bruce, A big Thank you, for posting on FFR forum, and Facebook, as always, you're right on top of this, Cheers Tom. Last edited by Alfa02; 03-27-2023 at 10:16 PM..

Thanks Bruce, if anyone has questions, you can contact me (Here, Email, or Phone) or call Bill & Debbie, they are the people that run the car corral every year. Just put club: "Club Cobra" under club header. So we can all park together. Cheers Tom. |

Sorry Guys & Gals, about the poster, not the one we thought or wanted. The one we wanted would have been an ink drawing of a 289 race Cobra coming around a corner. This idea was axed by Steve Saleen, as he wanted one of his race cars on it, more on that later. Tom. |

WOW Jim, Way Cool. They must think the sun shines out you're a$$ (Monty Python saying ) quite the honor my friend. That's what I hoped our poster was going to look like, BUT Steve Saleen HAD to have his car on the poster. Cheers Buddy, and make us proud, Tom. |

Yes, when I saw that I was on the page for the Historic's race, I figured that I would have to register again for that one. Quite the honor, now I guess I have to race well too

Now Buddy Boy, you HAVE to run @ the pointy end of the pack (Front two rows). I don't know if you guys talk on Pre-Gird, about running together, us Mid-bore group always had a plan (First 6-8 cars) Everyone got to lead a lap, change positions somewhere where the crowd couldn't see us. (Back stretch/ turn 4) I have since found out, our Big-Bore group have done the same thing (Doug Kirk with his "Real" GT-40) told me yes, we also traded places till the last 2-3 laps. It made for some great racing, and the crowd loved it. We always saved just a little for the last laps, and there was some "Hard Racing" but still "Safe". We have crossed the line 4-5 cars abreast; I've come around the last corner in the lead, only to have a gang of 356 Porsche's "Freight train" me before the checkered flag, Damn 356's great FUN!! Cheers Jim, Tom. |

				 Pacific Raceway Meeting Site.
Ok Gentleman, hopefully everyone has registered (One form for each car) under the club header (Club Cobra) Bruce and I decided to meet like last time @ the Union 76 gas station @601 Auburn way S. @ 8:00am, corral all the snake, and leave @ 8:30 sharp !! Since everyone will be registered, we will arrive as a group and be able to drive right in, without stopping @ the ticket booth, pretty cool site as 14 Cobras went by everyone waiting, (They heard us before they saw us ) We has interest from NW Facebook, FFR forum, and our private mailing list, LOTS of reply's. Here's a map to the Union 76 station, PM me if you have questions, let's make this the best year ever, Cheers Tom. https://www.google.com/maps/place/60...g%2F11ggr9j_7x |
