Boise...Saturday Morning

Just spoke with Randy Ragsdale in Boise. He is the fellow who co-ordinates the Idaho Exotics. He said they will "meet us in the motel parking lot at 0830 on Saturday morning" for the run to Sun Valley.

Randy told me he expects 7 or 8 Cobras and quite a sampling of of other cars i.e. Panteras, Vipers, Aston Martins, Ferraris etc. to join in the run and/or the dinner at Benn Crowe Inn that evening.
He said it was a little difficult to know for sure who will be there.
I understand that!!! But any way, should be fun.

Everone should try to make it to the XXX by 1100 hrs, gas tank full. We will have a brief meeting to hand out the packets, the "T" Shirts, start the Poker run (Ante up) and check the radios. I would like to be on the road by 1230 latest.

Questions? Now is the time.

Bish, Instead of each person bringing 50 lbs of tools lets consolidate. Is some one bringing a spare tire? Which brand of
radio should I buy? Thanks, Jay.

Bish Wheeler 06-03-2002 08:34 AM

Jay,

I think any 14 ch. FRS radio will work. Radio Shack has them. Probably the best of the bunch is the Kenwwod. Don't know where to get them but Rich and Zderf just bought them so they would know. You're right we have plenty of tools so other than those who said they were bringing tools there is no need. I don't have a good suggestion for a spare tire. I think it would be easier to buy one along the way if need be.

We have lost the truck and trailer for the run. Sorry guys, but my son is a contractor and he is up to his eyeballs in 3 different construction jobs, needs the truck and can't get away. We still have two chase vehicles so all will be well.:(

Weather is getting a little iffy so this brings the big QUESTION?
Those that have tops who are bringing them. I'll respond later.

Blue Cobra 06-05-2002 09:26 AM

Topless

Tops? Tops? I need no stinking tops?:(

I got the gold card though......

Zderf 06-05-2002 09:45 AM

Bigger Issue

I'm more concered about the temps. 50-60's tops for the Sun Valley run. Saturday and Sunday will be on the chilly hilly side. So I'm packing November stuff!!!

Brrrrr.

Zderf

Bish Wheeler 06-05-2002 01:38 PM

Yeah, may be a bit cool, but bet it will seem warmer 'cuz the air won't be full of WATER. Gotta 'member, SV is at 6000 feet. Talked to Adam in Boise last night, said it was 85 yesterday and headed for 70/75 the next couple of days. Will seem hot to me. Just made a run to Bellingham to the closest NOVUS outfit (to plug a "hole" in the wind screen) and got a bit wet on the way back!

Just a minute ago I got a call from Randy Ragsdale, my contact guy with the Idaho Exotics, saying he is pretty sure 20 cars will be on the run on Saturday. 8 cobras, 3 Panteras, 2 Vipers, 3 Ferarris, 3 Lotus's, AC Bristol, well you get the idea. That group wants to run out the red carpet for us and some of them will probably show up at the Motel on Friday night.

See ya in the morning.

Not to be a spoil sport, but here's the latest weather forecast for Ketchum ID...
Saturday and Sunday Mostly cloudy. A chance of mountain snow and valley rain showers and afternoon thunderstorms. Much colder with lows 30 to 40 and highs 50 to 60.

I wouldn't give this report too much credence as the forecast has changed every day this week. However...I am packing the Gore-tex jacket.

Rich

If the SV run becomes impossible, Randy and his group have offered an alternative run that while shorter, may offer a good fall back position. I will give the details in Richland.

Ahhhhhhhhh.........

Some day...............

Anyhow - you all have a great time and be careful out there! Looking forward to photos of the trip!!!!!!! Praying for BLUE!

Rich 06-05-2002 03:24 PM

Bish,

I didn't say snow or thundershowers would make the SV trip impossible... just an inconvenience. We're gonna have so many great stories!

I forgot one thing...

How do you get to XXX? I've only been there once.

All I really need is the off ramp from I-90.

Rich

NealM 06-05-2002 09:00 PM

XXX

Take I-90 to the Front Street exit (Exit 15?). Stay to your right onto Front and turn left at the first light on to Gilman Blvd. The XXX is on your immediate left.

Cheapest gas is Costco. Get of at the state park exit (14) and turn left over I-90. Follow the road for 2 miles and the station is on your right.

Rich 06-05-2002 10:29 PM

Neal,

Thanks man!

Rich

Zderf 06-06-2002 08:54 AM

Go AWAY!!!

Raining like a cow, flat rock, you know.. right now. Hey Rich, wet up your way? I've got a high speed umbrella I'm going to try too get down to XXX.

Damn...
