Lightbulb Looking For Good Engine Shop In Seattle Area

Hello,

I live in alaska and I am having a hard time finding a person in the seattle area to do some engine work. I need to have the engine block cleaned, checked for cracks, bored out and new plug/cam bearing installed. Maybe even have the crank cleaned up a little to. Does anyone know of anybody in this area that is that does good work?

Thank you for your help

I don't know a good one there. I DO know one to stay away from at all costs...Jim Green in Lynnwood. Several members have had really bad experiences there.

Now, If you don't mind shipping it on down to Portland, I highly recommend Larsen&King/Portland Engine Rebuilders. Ted King did my 427 S/O and I souldn't have been happier with the work and the way the engine performed. He has also done many other FE's and smallblocks for Cobra guys. His shop builds NASCAR engines, so he's well qualified to get it right for you.

Phone: 503-230-1276 Ask for Ted King. He's sometimes long winded on the phone so you may hold for a bit. Tell him Al Martindale sent you. You might want to tell the guy who answers the phone the same thing, so you can get right to him. Be patient in making contact. It's worth it.

Al

Sorry about the double post.

johnny5,

I worked up in your area a number of years ago. Maintenance Mgr. for LP on Annette Is. at Metlakatla. You ever run into a guy named Jon Sportsman, around Ketchikan, say hello for me.

Looks just like your weather down here in Portland today. Low overcast and wet!

Is ADB Machine still in Anchorage? I used to go there all the time. They did several Corvette engines for me. They were on Muldoon Rd near the Elmendorf hospital gate. I've never had an engine built for me. I used them for machine services only.

I just looked them up. 907-278-8655
