Default Hoods Canal run update

It looks like the weather going be good this weekend {Sat} I would like some idea on who"s going. The plan is the same with a trip to Squiem to Allen Grants for a short tour. I have not heard back from Allen yet, but should by the end of the week. If anyone is coming by way of the ferry they could meet use at west end hoods canal bridge. in-stead of B.I. 10:45 am? The trip plan is on the first page of the hoods canal trip GR> posting. Also I have a open seat in my car if someone wants to go. Meet use at Sharis 9:30am Sedgewick and SR16 East side.

Actually he must have because I don't have to work after all. Do you want to hook up somewhere and drive over to Sharis?

Jim & Ray,

Why don't we meet at the Park & Ride at Hwy 512 & So. Tacoma Way and go through University Place to Hwy 16. If we leave the Park & Ride by 8:15 we should have plenty of time.

Andy and all.

What a great day. It looked pretty iffy with rain threatening as we got closer to Sequim, but it cleared and we all had a great day. Thanks so much to Andy for putting together the run and the invite to Allen Grant's place. What a life Allen has had and it was really fun to hear his racing life story and see all his cool stuff.
Now we have a dilemma........Allen Grant's Rod-In is the same weedend as Jakes Run to the Ocean. So now I don't know what to do unless we could incorporate both some how by going to Ocean Shores from the north end after the Rod-In, but that's a lot of miles and a long day.
Any ideas?

Ray

I agree Ray, We all had the time of our life. If the choice is to refuse a special and persional invite by Allen Grant as we all recieved or to go to the Ocean their is no choice. The Ocean will be their for a long time. Actual Cobra Race drivers wont. Allan is one good reason why we have cobras in the first place. Thank's Andy for a fine day and I also want to thank all those my wife and I had the pleasure to spend the day with. You are all a special group of people. Was nice to meet Larry and wife from Lynwood. Hope to have you both along in the future.

Thank's for all those who continually remind me to turn off my turn signals!!

If I did not have to continually play catch up with all you SPEED junkies I might have time to remember to turn them off. ( a little white lie)

Andy, I'm not sure how many scoops of Ice Cream Steve really had but his cobra was leaning to the drivers side when he drove off.

Jim

I concur! What a great day. Allen Grant was very gracious in opening his garage and giving us a first hand perspective of the Shelby era of racing. Thanks Andy for making it possible and for the biggest scoop of ice cream I’ve ever seen. As for a return trip to Sequim or the run to the ocean; Eileen and I have a previously scheduled trip to Lincoln City, OR so we will not be able to attend. My son, who is a BIG Mustang fan has decided that Cobras are much more fun. He wanted me to let everyone know that he enjoyed the day and friendly group.
Jim, I understand they make a self-canceling turn signal system for these cars.

Steve, My car is equiped with auto shut off signals. Following you is the problim. The switch only works when my steering wheel turns more than a quarter turn back. The contour of most roads curves do not have time enuff to spring back into their normal possition after you pass to let my signal switch work. Following you, I'm always on a straight shot requardless of what my signals say. I,m getting sick of looking at your trunk all the time!!!!

PS: Easy on the bean breakfast burito,s, I,m following you!!

Jim

I would have to agree. I think a chance to spend more time with a Cobra racing legend and a heck of a nice guy doesn't come along very often. I don't know how many are planning on going to the ocean but I would encourage everyone to go to the Rod-In and maybe do the ocean run the following weekend.

Just watching out for ya buddy on the turn signals. Hate to see someone turn if front of you like they did to Andy. At least he didn't hit them.
SPEED junkies?? Well yeah!! But I remember chasing YOU acouple times.

BTW; Thanks you guys for waiting for me while I gassed up the thirsty beast.
Steve and his 20mpg Geezzzz, I got a whopping 12.

The ice cream was great wasn't it?
