I retired in 2006. What has amazed me in the civillian world is the misconceptions. After hearing numerous times that the only people that stay in the Military are those who can't get a job in the real world I've noticed something quite different. After working in the real world for almost three years now I can say that a very large portion out there couldn't make it in the military.

I miss flying with the caliber of people the USAF has.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I retired in 98 and noticed the EXACT same thing.
