Default Custom Paint

I'm concidering painting my SPF something different, but I have no idea what. I'd like to do something more eye catching then the Titanium/black, but nothing totally crazy. Any ideas?

Spoony:
If you're going to change colors and red appeals to you look at the 2003/2004 Ford color called Red File Metallic Pearl. Check out your local Ford dealer to see it on a car. Pretty striking. Just got ERA684 finished with it out of the paint shop, pictures in gallery and they don't do it justice.

Question

Don,

Is that the red that they used on some of the Mustangs? I saw a Cobra up here that they painted with that red and it was drop dead beautiful. It really looked great on the Cobra.

When I had my car painted, my wife told the painter Bubble Gum Pink with Lime Green Stripes. The painter almost fainted.

Ron:
Yes, it's a color seen on the Mustangs. Correction on the typo the color is Red Fire.

I was thinking of a heavy metalic Copper color with Titanium strips, but I sure do like that Red DonC. Maybe add a little flake to it, give it a little bling?

Ron:
Not a flake myself but it could work. Best advice would be to get some touchup paint sample bottles and mix up what you think would work for you and try it on a piece of scrap to get an idea of what the final product would look like. I went through about 10 by the time I made my final decision.

Well I think I found the paint. It's called Lizstick Red, but the problem is, it's only made for Saleen. BASF makes it, but they won't sell me a few gallons either. Hell I'll take the stuff that spills on the floor. It's a little darker than a true Candy Apple red. I'll keep looking.
