early 260/289 streetcar radiator

ouchywawa! man them things went up, back in 74 I bought one of them radiatores stait from the Chevy dealer and paid $80 or $90 bucks. anyhow, what about the mount cushins, stock vette on the bottom? and what about the top mount gizzmo, hand fabed at Shelby?

One metal tube "post" top center and two on the bottom. They rode in large rubber grommets. Large washers and split wire cotter type keys completed the fastening. The lower chassis mounts are part of the chassis. The upper is a sheet metal tab secured with three screws. I have never found any replacement grommets faithful to the original. There are "will work" grommets floating around new but I don't know the source.

Ditto for McCord radiators in subsequent cars.

1962 Vette radiator has the correct mounting points for Cobra and return tube on top. 1963 forward used a different top loop. More of a hook design.

The original tankless are upwards of $800 though....

I am using a Fluidyne as I fear the other design may not totally remove the heat. Not period however the Fluidyne works A-1...
