Update.....

I have had a go at shortening some VW Beetle side stips I bought from Ebay for £1.00 ($1.50) plus P+P, and modified the ends to achieve the length and put a rounded shape on the cut end.

The top pic below is the original part,the lower is my effort, not perfect but you will have to get run over to see the differnece.....

I made a simple wooden tool to bend the part and then trimmed the edge.


I am pleased with the outcome. so don't tell me it should be a straight cut end know.......

What piece of VW trim is this your working with? I have a ERA -supplied
self-adhesive, chrome plastic piece of trim to go on mine. But, that looks much nicer.
