Hey, some stress over which way is the right way for the quick jacks. Or how to mount the original SW240A fuel pumps.

Some of us chase after the right tools for an original tool kit. Like this:

It's all part of the mystique and fun.

Cheers
Greg

PS: Amazon is delivering John Morton's Cobra book on Tuesday.

Thanks Larry. Too much time spent on e-bay. The screwdriver in my pic is my first "prototype" reproduction screwdriver.

Did you see what those screwdrivers on e-bay sold for?

Time for me to dust off my plans to do a short run of reproduction screwdrivers sometime this winter.

Cheers
Greg

I did see how much those sold for... $244! Wow!

If you do make some screwdrivers, keep me in mind for one.

Hey Greg
What color(s) did you end up using on your screwdriver?
The red looks kind of brownish red or a burnt red on my monitor.

Hi Larry. I used Rustoleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Gloss Apple Red #249124.

Sanded the handle, then painted the handle, then sanded out the handle grooves. Now to find a clear coat that won't wrinkle the enamel paint.

Got to get back at the screwdriver project.

Cheers
Greg

I have had a DUH moment.

Turns out there is a clear Rustoleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover that is compatible with the Gloss Apple Red and will not wrinkle/orange peel it.

Didn't see it on the shelf when I bought the Apple Red.

Cheers
Greg

Yeah, I saw that the other day at Ace Hardware. I was going to post it after I tried it.
