I had the same problem. I deviated a little from stock appearance and browsed through the plumbing area of Home Depot and found a soft rubber, beveled washer that works very well and provided a finished appearance. I forget what the exact application was. I can probably find out if you need me to.



PS - I deviated slightly on the cap too - it has a ribbed release button.

that looks like a kohler tank to bowl seal.
i use them for my rollbar. i have a box of em. if you can't find them at the hardware store. email me.

I think you may be right - I was afraid to say so from memory - it was in a blister pack. It's soft enough that it will grip to the neck and conform to the body. Not exactly original however.

ERA had my cap that I furnished them, mounted with an O-ring, but as My427cobra said, it didn't exactly fit the curvature of the body or look right. I don't really see how an O-ring would work or seal well - I think a thin-section grommet that extends through the opening under the body would work the best and seal reasonably well. It would almost have to be a specialty made item though.
