Default Any photos of CSX 3020 when it was yellow ??

CSX 3020 evidently was originally built as a European back-up car for the race team, and it was yellow with a huge black "X" across the hood, going from each headlight to the opposite windshield post.

Anyone have any photos of the car in this paint scheme ??

Wasn't that the car that Dave Dralle drove back in the day? You may want to give him a call.

This is what has made me curious. At :57 or so, there is a snapshot and description of it in the yellow paint scheme.

Racer "X"!!!

Is this the same 427 that "Only Yesterday" restored a few years ago?

Thanks for all of the photos, I did not expect to see so many of them.

Was there a special historical significance of this paint scheme ? Or was it simply someones vision of a paint job that had not been done before ?

Derald.

That may have been during the time that the car was raced in a class that didn't allow Dry Sumps

Dralle raced the car in the SCCA, which did not permit the dry sump systems in a 427 Cobra simply because too few had been built that way.

Hi Ned

I remember you telling me something about that, but I couldn't remember the exact details.

Default Csx3020

CSX 3020 as I understand it was a backup car that was entered at LeMans in 66 I believe with Ken Miles listed as driver. The car was owned by Draille and Kent Busher. I ran into one of Kents sons on a construction job here in So California years ago and we started talking about racing Cobras. I ended up buying one of the spare sideoiler blocks from Kent for my Kirkham. Kent also had at the time some pretty rare parts like a magneseum medium riser intake for 2 Ford inline carbs.

I have a complete album on this car including yellow paint photos. I restored the car for Art Foley.
