Default FIA Driver Seat & Auxillary Fuel Tank

There are/were a couple of threads on this subject I cannot find.

My questions are:

Someone made/makes an original type racing seat. Can someone source the thread, or give me the name?

Also there was a thread on construction of the tank. I have a Superformance FIA and would like to commission such a tank, but need some originals to model from.

Thank you,

Ron

Regarding the seats:

Here's an article posted on FFR Forum:https://www.ffcars.com/forums/17-fac...-pictures.html

Here are the Kirkey seats they reference:https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Kirke...SABEgJz0PD_BwE

And the Sube:https://www.subesports.com/products/...ts/brand/cobra

I hope this helps. Terry

For seats I believe this is the one you would want.

Ron,

I have the Kirkey style seat as the passenger seat in my race car. It looks nice and is comfortable; however, if you are not planning on racing I would choose one of the other seats shown previously as there are cutouts for the lap belt and submarine belt and I am not sure that you want those is a street car if you are going for the vintage look.

I believe original comp seats used by SA teams were fiberglass. That said, Steve Sunshine’s alloy seat is very nice and well made. (I have one) Might call or email him to see if any are available.
Somewhere, I have photos of a long range tank. I’ll see if I can dig up a couple. Also, the tank currently in CSX2142 is a long range tank, so you might search around the internet for photos of it. Would give you some ideas to go on.

Ron,

Do you want a functional “long range” fuel tank system or are you trying to make the trunk area appear more correct?

I developed both and the tank will then match the existing bung on your car.
You are welcome to contact me for more info

You have the following...

1) fuel changeover valve
2) frame support brackets
3) auxiliary tank support brackets
4) mechanical fuel pump
5) electric fuel pump
6) auxiliary fuel tank hold down bracket and hooks
7) transfer bungs on the main fuel tank

* you need just the auxiliary fuel tank?

Yes. I purchased all that with the roller. Wanted to build a tank that looked more original. Just now getting around to it.

That being said you should probably use Ross's parts as the parts you already purchased work are of his design.
