Default 289 Horn Placement / Orientation

I have a few photos of the left side horn placement, but I don’t have anything (other than the bracket location) with regards to the right side Windtone horn installation. Being under the alternator, I understand that pics are difficult to get, but if anyone has anything showing the horn attached to the bracket, I would love to see a picture or two.

Just below the alternator on the cowl brace tube is a bracket. The horn is mounted to that bracket.

Stacy,

That is where mine was mounted as well. I will look through my pictures to see if I have one of the bracket. The car is at Time Machines right now as we were measuring and fitting new headers. I may still have the horns if I did not sell them, if you need them. I will have to look through my stuff. I will be with the car on Tuesday if you want more pictures.

Jim

Larry,

Does the horn mount dome up or dome down? Does the horn point into the engine bay or towards the right front wheel? I know basically where to attach the bracket, but determining how to orient the bracket radially on the cowl brace tube is what I’m unsure about.

I edited this photo a little to (maybe?) make it a little more clear. The "dome" points towards the right front tire, if that makes sense. The horn assembly mounts pointing down.

I'll also add these photos of the bracket itself. This is a recreation from the original Hi Tech company. They're pretty exact! Gives you an idea of how far they went to accurately replicate the Cobra!

Just as a F.Y.I., early cars had horns installed in front of the radiator. Horns moved to beside the engine at CSX2201.

Well, I have photos showing it but my computer took a dump on me over the weekend. I can’t get to the photos at the moment and I’m using my phone for internet! Maybe someone else has pics.

Unfortunately I've no information about the car this picture is coming from.
But it seems to me an original car and I did use it as a reference for my car.

Could be interesting for you: Horn mounts
