The enclosure stayed much like CSX2001-CSX2164 cars. A.C. added an aluminum adapter and all the parts to make two brake circuits for CSX2165-CSX2200 cars.
At CSX2201 a new larger enclosure was added as part of the welded chassis.
CSX2165 was also the first car to get steel differential hangers instead of the cast iron original which had a breakage problem.
