S/C body tail lights

Can I put S/C tail lights on a street car? Is the tail light area the same shape or is the body different in the tail lights on a street car?

These are hand made cars, thus all slight difference.
In general the S/C carries the S/C lip.
There is narrow hip, wide hip, comp rear and S/C lip all with the hand made differences.

I figured, but we have a street car converted to an S/C. We had a comp car in here last and the tail lights appear like they are different. Is this the case?

If you want to convert from the street 4 light/reflector setup to rectangular lights, most bodies will require some shape-shifting. Fiberglass work and Bondo required. We actually cut the whole area out and replaced with a new fiberglass "cap".

Or alloy fill in, assuming could be metal.

OK thanks guys. The car is an original street car that was converted to an SC car. They did the wheel lips dash gauges headers and hood scoop but left the tail lights streetcar. I really think that it throws the car off having the streetcar tail lights But having all the other SC car appointments. I wonder why not do the last part While they were working the body.Along with filling and eliminating the windshield fence do you think that would improve the value of the car do you have all those things corrected. While the car is being painted.?Any thoughts on this?

Is this an original CSX3000 car or is someone working on a replica? Or is it a though experiment?

It seems extremely unusual for an original car to be in the hands of someone that isn't one of a half dozen well known restorers that don't ask these kinds of questions on a forum...

Yes I understand your point. Im an enthusiast with a friend who has the car. We discuss the car and its details, options, and bench race quite a bit. We are not doing any work to the car , that would clearly be done by one of the competent shops, but we like to be informed and its fun to do the research instead of just writing checks and smoking cigars. I hope everyone can appreciate that. Thank you.

The alloy will be difficult without knowledge of that material.
I believe the two holes are farther apart than the Lucas 542 hole therefore it’s work, welding and paint etc..,,

A panel beater is key as it’s not a cheap car.
Welding type and gasses used all important.
Not an experiment.

That is why you need knowledge in this area and why it’s not already converted.
Also to switch it back in the event of a Resto it will need reversing.
Is the value in original body???
Without knowing car it’s hard to say.
