Motor mount pedestals
I am looking for a set of motor mount pedestals that were used on 289 cars. The part I am looking for welds to the 3" main tubes and the actual motor mounts then bolt to the top of them. Is anybody making and selling these? I am close to fabricating a set, but thought I would check first.
Thanks,
Jay

Thanks Bob, and Jay good talking, sounds like an interesting project. I'm programming these up and a bunch more 289 chassis parts.

For what it's worth, Nick made me a dead nuts on set of FE mounts to weld to the 4" tubes on my Contemporary. (My car originally had a 351 Cleveland in it). They're EXACT duplicates of the original CSX FE mounts, and they are a work of art. Nick does extraordinary work, and is as reliable as they come. If he says they'll be there on Tuesday, you can count on it. He's an absolute pleasure to deal with, and his work is top notch.
Of course with that wacky accent of his, you can't understand a word he says, but that's another story in itself......
(He pays me very well to say these things..... )

Nick, Definitely good talking to you also and I am glad you will be able to help. For the short term I am also looking for a steering pedestal for a worm and sector car. This the part the steering box attaches to and goes down to the main tube. Is that something you are also working on?

Hi Jay, I'm programming the whole 289 chassis but it's for R&P not W&S. You're the W&S guy, what have you got to reference?

Nick, I figured you were probably working on a R&P car, but was hoping it was a W&S version. I'll crawl under my completed car and see what I can get in the way of measurements. I'll give you a call when I get them.
