Default Original 289 Weight

Has anyone weighed an original (unmodified) 289 Slabside?

I am looking for an actual weight for the cars as opposed to Shelby's claimed weight of 2,020 lbs.

Thanks,

Kevin

Karl,

Thanks. Is that with the original iron head motor, or have you made any changes to the car?

I saw the side pipes in your gallery, but I don't think that would change the weight much. Was the tank empty when it was weighed?

Thanks again,

Kevin

With sticky tires and nearly 380 HP it's no wonder they ran circles around the Corvettes. That's why many Corvette drivers jummped ship.

2206 declared on non modified 1964 289 production car. Measured, with G8s 7.35-15 Goodyear, it was 2250! I hope that it was helpful
