Only "Da Bunnies" have such a list, and I can tell you as their spokesman, they will not divulge that information to anyone but SAAC. Bill S. |
I have a list that pre-dates SAAC
What you need to do is start somewhere and work backwards in time or forwards. For backwards, you might not be aware there was another Cobra club before SAAC
Not sure of name as I don't have it in front of me but it was based in Grosse Pointe, MI, which if you have been there is an enclave of auto executives like the Ford family. The list is about 20 pages (not counting cover and blank back page I was thinking it was worthless until someone in England who got a copy of the list reently told me two of the owners listed in the UK still own their cars and this list has got to be pre-'72. And I found one owner in San Diego who is listed with one Cobra but told me he has two, so that's a bonus listing. So the only thing I can say about old old lists is that , while they may be 99% obsolete because of address changes and car sales, they give you a place to start. I can vouch for this method as back in the '80s, I used to buy Ferraris by comparing one year's membership list of owners with the previous year and when people dropped out, writing them a letter saying "I noticed you dropped out of the Ferrari club. If that's the case, then...blah blah. It was fun while it lasted... |
Guess I'll just have to get the "lost" Cobra I found authenticated by the Shelby Owners Association.

Is it April already?

I recently ran into a guy that had a "Backdraft bodied Cobra on an original frame" he had inherited from his father. Nice car. I asked what frame number he had and he said, "I don't know." He left in a hurry. I was hoping to help him find his chassis number...
I suppose it's possible... Possible <> Probable DD |
I'm going to sound like Patrick, and I mean absolutely no disrespect to BDR, but the father picked a BDR for his rebody?
|
Isn't a BDR longer wheelbase?
Larry |
Yup. Wider too...
|
Nope, not the one driving around at SAAC 34 that once had the 'glass body. I'm refering to another lost one.
