Default Thumbs up for Supercar Sunday in Los Angeles

This is an event that occurs every week, on Sunday mornings in a suburb of Los Angeles in the far west Valley. It happens in the parking lot of a big shopping center that is about 3/4 of a mile North on Topanga Canyon from the 101 freeway. I got there at 7 am and there was already about 20 cars. Eventually I guess there was over 100. The day I was there they were focusing on Ferraris and Lamborghinis and I remember thinking as I saw one $300,000 car after another pour in "Hey,has anyone told these guys there's a recession going on?" I only saw three replica Cobras. Somebody showed up with a $1.7 million dollar carbon fiber Lambo. There was a $5 million vintage Ferrari Testa Rossa. It is sponsored by a nearboy exotic car dealer who have a booth with accoutraments (t-shirts, driving gloves etc.) There's a nice deli about 500 feet into the shopping center. It seems more lively than the Cars 'n Coffee in Irvine and I heard lasts a little longer (the Irvine thing is over by 9 am). So as a free show with lots of variety,I recommend this one if you can get up early...

It is a great event and the coffee is free. Coming up at the end of this month Sept. 29th is the Cobra vs Viper shootout. Who will dominate will be determined by what group brings out the most cars. It really doesn't matter who wins, it's just plain good fun. So bring out the Cobras and be counted. Info is availible at supercarsunday.com

Default Keep light on the throttle as you leave

I wasn't at last Sunday's event long enough to see any cars leave but I hope it wasn't like the cars 'n coffee in Irvine where a bunch of spectators wait for someone to do a burnout as they leave the event and enter the street. I think most spectators are just glad to see so many cars together and see them for free. The car owners hopefully will lay off the theatrics so the event doesn't have to search again for another venue.

I am back in Malibu for a few weeks and would like to stop by this event. Can you share the name or address of the event location and if it is still happening every week?

Thanks

Bob

Hey Bob,
It's every sunday morning 7-10:00. The last sunday of the month draws the biggest crowd. It's held at the Westfield Prominade on Topanga Canyon Blvd a couple miles north of Ventura Blvd. just past the Marriot. Check out the website supercarsunday.com for more info.

Thanks John! I took a look at the website and it looks like fun. We will probably make the trek over from Malibu depending on the weather.
