Lightbulb Woodwar Dream Cruise

Anybody going to be doing the "CRUISE" this year. My brother sent some pics from last year and I saw what looked like a "Cobra Section". He's been after me to come up "home" and relive my 60's so I'm bringing the car.

Would like to hook up with a "Good" crowd. I'll be in town a full week before the big event.

Wizard

Go to [url=http://www.greatlakescobra.com] and you will find the group that gather at the Woodward Dream Cruise. Go to the "contact us" section and leave a message. There are usually about 70 cobras parked there. The cost for parking for the day (Saturday) is $30.00. You can come and go as you please but, I don't think there will be any spots left though. The cities located along the approx 8 miles of Woodward only allow so many parking spots per group and competition for parking is fierce. By noon on Saturday the traffic is stop and go (mostly stop because of the thousands of cars cruising). If you are coming early (a couple of days before Sat.), the evening cruising usually starts at the beginning of the week and gets more crowded as the week goes on. It is quite a spectacle and alot of fun. You will see every imaginable car from restored oldies to wild custom hotrodded cement trucks.

The cobra group gather several times during the week to cruise and have dinner etc. along woodward. They gather Sat. morning about 7:00 AM (ya gotta be early to secure you parking space) Then about 9:00 am they cruise up woodward as a group (3 abreast). After that it starts to get too congested for cruising. So you sit in your lawn chair and enjoy the sights for the afternoon. Things start to get a little wild in the evening with the partying and cruising and burnouts etc. ( Don't get caught doing a burnout. The police are everywhere and they will ticket you, but that doesn't stop alot of them though.)

Tnx for the info, Paul. I've already contacted the web site and we'll see what happens. Three abreast, that must be totally awesome. (Totally is not the word I wanted to use). The other events have me interested as well. I ca't wait to come up.

The Great Lakes Cobra Club will have two sites at the Woodward Dream Cruise. The main site will be at Hazel and Old Woodward. Most, if not all the spaces are already reserved. Overflow will be be down Woodward a few blocks. Dynamic Motorsports will be showing SPFs about a block away on Woodward from the main Cobra gathering. Anyone interested needs to contact

I hit the wrong button and ended the email prematurely. Anyone interested in having a Cobra at the Dream Cruise should contact Terry or Karen Anway for information. You can leave a message a at the Great Lakes Cobra Club website [url=http://www.greatlakescobra.com]

I have already contacted Terry and I'm in. From the quck replies and friendly attitudes, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy my trip home. If any is interested , follow the instructions above and you be treated right.

To all y'all out in Ca., I predict an earthquake at 09:00 on the 16th of August, EDT. 80 or so Cobras will hit Woodward at that time, three abreast. Oooooooooo. The Ground, She gonna shake. :3dsmile:

This is a little late in coming (catching up on chores after a week in MI) but I'd like to give a special thanks to the Great Lakes Cobra Club for allowing me to participate with them during the "GREATEST" show on earth. For those of you who have not been to the Woodward Dream Cruise, it is a MUST event. There are no words to describe it. You must EXPERIENCE it.

Thanks guys at GLCC.

Anyone that is unable to get a parking space via the Great Lakes Cobra Club for next year's Dream Cruise should be able to get one with Dean Rosen from SPF. This year he had rented a space that should be able to hold aver 60 Cobras within sight of the Great Lakes Cobra Club parking. Plan now on attending next year. If we do not have a Northeast US power blackout, over 30,000 cars and 2,000,000 people should be in attendance. Over 100 Cobras will be there.
