The Classic and Sports Car Magazine article:
GT40 NOT OUT, AS ALUMINUM-BODIED CAR MAKES COMEBACK
GT40 obsessive Chris Melia has just added this to his chache. Melia explained: "It's is the body from the Alan Mann car AMGT-2, along with an unused Tennant Panels GT40 monocoque, Gurney Westlake engine, full race ZF-1 transaxle, bag tanks, two sets of original wheels and wishbones." The car had been stored in Southend-on-Sea for the past 15 years. He added "In 1966, Paul Hawkins removed the aluminum-bodied GT40, went to the USA and was badly damaged after the car was stolen. This means I now own the only original ally GT40 body. Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart drove the car for Alan Mann Racing in '66. I've decided to build the cr back to how it was in the Mann days with the body painted in its original Ford Monaco red with two bright gold stripes with black pine edges" Melia is appealing for information and can be contacted via C&SC at the usual address.
There is also three photos of the car body.
I hope this helps.
