www.vettebrakes.com made the springs for EM. I purchased mine straight from them. EM should still be able to supply you with the parts that you need to build you cobra. I have an extra front spring mount bracket if needed.

First I'd check out this forum for parts.... http://www.corvetteforum.com/ Look in the C-4 section and also you could put a post for parts wanted. I ordered a new rear spring from EM and it was made by Vette Brakes, I found it too soft for my liking, even with the ride height adjusted full up position. Kept hitting the inside body under hard acceleration. I had a composite spring from Vette Brakes for a C-3 sitting around, the highest spring rate they made, I believe around 550#. Put that in and solved my problem.

Rob,
They had an 1/8 mile drag set up, I run that right at 6 seconds and 110 mph, by the time I shifted 1,2, and busy trying to keep the car straight, I had already pasted the cones. I looked up for the cones and couldn't find them, of course my foot was on the gas the whole time. Optically I couldn't see the end of the runway, and when I did, I was well over 130 mph and about 50' of runway left. Muttered something to myself like....."oh chit" and went off the end of the runway, doing some loops and coming off the ground 3 times about 3-4' high each time. Really wasn't thinking anything while this was happening, just goin for a ride. Then I saw the end of the airport property coming up, and this 4 foot dirt mound covered in grass, and me still doin around 50 mph. Said to myself, anytime the NASCAR guys hit something like this, it's never pretty. Shot up the mound and into the next field. Ended up over 200 yards from end of runway. Side exhaust was now an undercar exhaust on one side, broke both motor mounts, bent 1 rim, and slightly moved the radiator.....That was a kodak moment that's still pretty fresh in my memory as the day it happened.

Sounds like you tried to make the 1/8 mile drag into a 1/4 mile! Glad you didn't get hurt. The car can always be fixed or replaced.... Bet you had to change the driver's seat for the serious pucker in it! LOL

Ironic! Another member complained of the front spring being too stiff! Do you still have the soft rear spring? For sale? Let me know.

Jack - wonder if you could sell that ride to Cedar Point?
Actually, without sounding like an ad for EM, I think it says a lot for Everett-Morrison and the Vette suspension to be able to take that kind of beating.
I've only heard of one EM failure on this site, think it was Tom Wells (?) who had a fracture in a halfshaft or something, pretty nasty wreck as a result, if I recall correctly.

The original front spring in my car was thought to be to stiff as well. It turns out that 84-87 C4's use a longer front spring than 88-96 C4's. I switched to a shorter spring and the problem was solved. The longer spring was jamed between the outer ends of the front cotrol arms so it couldn't flex. The front of the car just bounced when it hit a bump in the road.
