"eyelets" for trunk safety lock WANTED!
1 Attachment(s)
Hello!
Where can I order the "eyelets" used on the 289 Cobra as trunk safety lock! Thanks ALF from Switzerland:confused: |
Arn't they just a set of furrells like for the top or side curtains?
|
you can order them from Cobra Restorers.
They are nothing more than a bezel that is used on some manufacturers hood latches. |
I contacted Cobra Restorers today. I added the picture on the e-mail.
They told me, that they don't sale this item!! John: If you can send me the Part# it can help to ask again! |
Alf:
Bill and Marge Guentzler at Motorsports International stock the proper ones. Call them at 619 390 9080 Bud:JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE |
...well I bought it from them about 2+ years ago.
You can try their online catalog. I can try and find the receipt. Maybe ask Enzo at Finish Line then, he supplies a lot of other parts houses. |
Restorers or Enzo do not have them today John
BudMan thanks for the lead |
Cobra Restorers .......#CP 1024........$32.95 pair.
These would not be too hard to make either. Rick |
Thanks for the help!
But can somebody send me the internet or e-mail address from "Bill and Marge Guentzler at Motorsports International"? ALF  P.S. It is easier to send an e-mail with the picture, then to explain it on the phone!!!!! |
Rick
I just went thru my catalog from Restorers and could not find them. What page are they on? |
|
Nice license plate, wish I could help more with where they came from.
|
Alf/Gary:
I don't have catalog in hand but it is on the same pame page as interior door handles and Hood handles. They have used the same grouped picture for years. The rings in question are in the lower part of the picture or go to thier on line catalog. Choose "Cobra" as model and "Hood & Deck Hardware", then look at bottom of the page 1:17/17. It doesn't want to sort by the part number alone??? Rick |
289 FIA rumble open strap
ALF,
Just a question, is the handle off center on the trunk? Also what US state is the car registered in? grumpy |
hey alf
i'm going to make my own tonight. at our tcc meet last weekend in austin texas there was a csx comp 289 that had the tie downs. they appeared to be washers that were riveted in place. i picked up some stainless washers and small rivets and i hope to drill and secure tonight. may not be original, but neither is my cobra. paul |
Grumpy, Check my gallery for BLT 427 Texas plate.

CSX3002 twin envy!
Tim,
Remember a month or so ago, I am completing another CSX3002 replica that I hope to take on a shakedown run up to Austin to see your car. Mine will be in primer with detailing lacking. Yea, I thought that looked like your plate in the pic. If gas continues, might have to settle for a hotdog rather'n a steak or so. Looking forward to seeing the car. See ya later. grumpy |
Grumpy, come on by. Two CSX3002's clones together equal CSX6004.
|
Grumpy, please post some pics of that bad boy. If it's half as nice as Tim's, you'll have a hell of a nice car--
