Default Alabama Move?

Might be moving to Alabama. My car is already titled in Florida.

What will I need and what is the process for transferring it all to ALA?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dan

Hi Dan,
I'm from there but I don't live there. It's no big deal.
Just take your title, registration and proof of insurance and you will get an Alabama title and plates.

Alabama is one of the easies places to get a car titled.

Where in Alabama are you moving?

We have a bunch of Cobras in North Alabama. Florence and Huntsville area.

Hi Dan

You might want to keep your Cobra titled in Florida, especially if it is titled as a 65 Cobra. Alabama was a "no title" state until around 1974-75. Anything prior to that will not have a title. My cobra was titled as a "2000 assembled vehicle" because it was built in 2000.

I would recommend that you just try to buy tags when your current tags expire. As long as there is a VIN on the car, you should have no trouble getting a tag.

At one time, it was very easy to get a title in Alabama, but in the last year or two, they have gotten very difficult to deal with (ask me how I know).

Thanks for the responses. It's currently titled as a 2007. Moving to just outside of Dothan if the job comes through.

Anyone near Dothan?

Hopefully it's an easy process for me.

Dan I think it will be easy.

Dothan is in Florida? Is it not? Well it is real close? So close you don't have to change the tag.

Move up here to the North part of the state. Lot cooler. It just 95 degree in the summer and it does not rain every day.
