New Arizona Cobra title question.

I just purchased a Kirkham 427SC completed car in Texas and need to title it in AZ. The car has never been titled and the owner has the MSO. Will it be easier for me to have him get a 1965 Texas title and take that to the AZ motor vehicle folks or would it be easier to get an AZ title with the MSO transfered to me? After talking to the DMV it sounds like having a 1965 title from Texas would make it easier but I would like some info from an AZ owner who has done it. Thanks in advance.
